It's a bit slow for me too. Usually the problem only persists for a day at the most, however, so hopefully you'll find it up to speed again tomorrow.

I've been wondering why loading the front page of the forum was becoming so slow recently. Just found out that everytime it was trying to load a 300KB+ text file for the knews banner! I think this is some bug in the forum software which adds loads of empty spaces in to the file every time the news is updated! I've emptied it out and it appears to load much faster.

It's certainly a lot quicker for me this afternoon. :)

Me too. Thanks for that, Illusion. Being two of the more verbose people on the forum, being able to access it faster does make for a lot less frustration!  ;)

It does seem a lot faster for me as well to day :). I was wandering also if anyone keeps getting funny error messages whenever they go onto the main page of the forum or guestbook page saying something like: Error page.. Invalid character. It keeps annoying me >:(. I think it's something to do with Internet explorer though.

Hmm, as you say you are getting the problem on the guestbook as well, it's probably not a fault with the forum itself. I've not experienced anything like you describe but if anyone else has the same problem please de-lurk here :)

The front page of the forum uses a bit of JavaScript for the knews banner which shouldn't be a problem but JavaScript has been known to cause problems with some browsers.

Now you mention it I am also getting that error message at the bottom on the page saying 'Error on page' however the page still loads fine. I don't know how long that error has been there as I probably won't have noticed it :)

Just experimented removing the knews banner and the error didn't appear, so the cause is certainly the JavaScript knews banner. Hmm.

This site it always so slow for me, kinda puts me off comeing here as much as i would like.

I use other fourms MUCH bigger then this one.. and i don't have any problem with them.. just seems like this one gets busy or blocked a lot worse.

I've often found the forum slow which is quite odd as my internet is rather fast usually.
