GGreetings!

Post by GrimaldineGrimwold »

Okies, time for my introduction.
Hey, you already have more posts than any sane person should possess. What are you writing an introduction for?
Yes, I guess I'm not properly a Knewbie, but I'm going to introduce myself anyway, since Illusion hasn't expressly said I can't (I did ask!). I never did get the chance to introduce myself, and I'd like to now since a few people have got a bit confused- and, allegedly, frightened- by me.
Stop blabbering and do it then!
Okay! As many people know, I've been posting on the various KM boards for a while now. I used to post occasionally on the old places, but it's really with this new improved board that I've been what you might call a "regular". My real name is John, and yes- shock, horror- I really am male. I think my memories of Knightmare go almost back to the beginning, since I remember hating Casper the Key even when I was a brat.
What's all this "dearie" stuff, and why do you talk about Brollachans?
Okay, that's nearly a direct quotation from someone, and the real reason I thought I needed to explain myself a bit.  As my username suggests, my identity here is a combination of two Knightmare characters, Grimaldine from Series 7 and Mrs. Grimwold from Series 3. In my own way, I try occasionally to roleplay the rather unusual character that results. Apparently Lord Fear grew so annoyed with Grimaldine (since the Brollachan wouldn't submit to his will) and Mrs. Grimwold (since her "pet" Festus chewed up his shoes) that he decided to merge the two of them into one person. He probably gloated a bit before doing it, but that's beside the point. I'm here in this form anyway.
But since these characters were in different Knightmare series, it doesn't make sense!

It's not really meant to exhibit perfect continuity. Making up things and putting things together that probably shouldn't mix is part of the fun.
Fun? I think it's boring.
Yep, I know some people don't like it for whatever reason. But so long as I don't break forum rules by doing it, I'm going to carry on, because a lot of people are kind enough to tell me they enjoy it and that it sometimes makes things worth reading. Besides, I enjoy it too. If you don't appreciate it, feel free to ignore it and me. If you do enjoy it, feel free to contribute to it in whatever way you wish, within the forum rules, obviously.
Hmm, okay. But since you have a God-forsaken number of posts, aren't you and the other regulars here going to jump on whatever I say and point out my mistakes when I post anything?
Nope. I think I can say that I've never jumped on anyone here in that way. Wherever possible, I don't like pointing out "errors", and if you join in any conversation with me I'll try to see the best in everything you say, as I'm sure most others will. I'm certainly not looking for mistakes. In any case, people remember different things and see different things in the same episodes. It's partly what makes discussing things fun.

More generally, I really do try to keep things going, to promote a bit of discussion and such. That's the real reason for my obscene number of posts- and yes, I agree it's obscene. I'd hope, however, that if you were bored enough to look through some of them, you'd find some things I'd spent time thinking on, things that prompted others to come up with ideas, and a few remotely amusing things. I'm perfectly aware a few people like to make little nasty remarks about me for various "reasons", but perhaps unlike others, I'm not disappearing. I hope the rest of the people here can at least live with me and my perhaps slightly odd, but hardly offensive mannerisms. :)
Can someone so pretentious really exist?
Yes. And if you ever want proof, feel free to drop me a line over forum IM or on AIM. I hope I'm at least a little more friendly than some would have you believe. ;)
Do you ever shut up?
Well, it wouldn't be one of my posts if it wasn't overly long. Since you ask so nicely, I'll do so now. Thankyou, and goodnight. :D
