Re:Knightmare on Hollywood
I suppose Treguard and gang could come to the present day, in either England or America. Lord Fear tries to take over the world with Techn-magic or something.
They did a similar thing in the return of Merlin with Rick Mayle, personally I think it was awful and not just because they could all understand one another.

Re:Knightmare on Hollywood
That's a luxury quibble I'd argue. I'm sure they could invent a spell that allows non-contemporaries to communicate. I mean let's face it, in the TV series dungeoneers have no trouble communicating with the inhabitants of the dungeon either do they?

Re:Knightmare on Hollywood
The Terguard and Dungeon characters speak Medieval English, but the spell makes use hear is modern English and converts modern English back into Medieval so the characters can understand.
Actually I've read Chaucer and that's not too difficult, but Treguard's English would've been older and probably had a bit of old Norse in it.

A Knigthmare movie would be wonderful, but could it stay tru to the feel of the game show or end up being like that dreadful He-man movie.

KM Hollywood style
I think a similar thread has been done before with actors in general, but which Hollywood actors/resses would be best playing which characters if a Hollywood blockbuster was made?
Also which Hollywood film characters are so like which Knightmare characters?

I'll try and think of a few possibilities:
Angelina Jolie- Velda
Sean Connery- Hordriss
I think I said this one in an earlier thread long time ago possibly Sean Bean- Skarkill
Ian Mckellen- Merlin
Arnold Schwarzenegger- dreadnort
Sarah Michelle Gellar- Elita
Tim Robbins- wellway guard, gibbet/gumboil perhaps
Catherine Zeta Jones- Greystagg

Sean Connery- Hordriss

Ridolfo: Orlando Bloom
Hordriss: Christopher Lee
Maldame: Sian Phillips
Julius Scaramonger: Sean Bean
Mogdred: Ian McKellan or Anthony Hopkins
Sir Hugh de Witless: Jack Davenport
McGrew: Robbie Coultrane
Merlin: Derek Jacobi
Mrs. Grimwold: Miriam Margolyes
Mr. Grimwold: whoever played Father Stack in Father Ted
Grimaldine: Richard o'Brien
Captain Neamanor: Geoffrey Rush
I'd never re-cast Treguard, Lord Fear or Sylvester Hands (though if I had to I'd choose Brian Blessed, either John Hurt or Alan Rickman and Eric Idle respectively).

Re:KM Hollywood style
Alan Rickman as Treguard
Kate Blanchette as Greystag
John Hurt or John Cleese as Mogdred
Orlando Bloom as Pickle
Christopher Lee as Hordris
Eric Idol as Motley
Tony Robinson as Sylvester hands
What kinds of scenes would people like to see in a KM movie, e.g. who would fight who?
Where would it take place, in Medieval England, in the present or in the Dungeon?

Re:KM Hollywood style
What would a KM movie be about?
The Dungeon
The novels
Stupid American kids going back in time and there being strangely no linguistic barrier between modern American Englaish and middle English.
Personally I think it would have to be something that would include chacracteres from all 8 series.
It would ahve to have:
Treguard
Pickle
Velda
Folly or Motley
Mellisandre (not Gretel)
Hordris
Brother Mace
Cedric
Mogdred
Merlin
Morghana or Malice
Greystag
McGrew
Gundrada
Gibit
Gatekeeper
Possibly Lord Fear
Skarkil
Fatilla
Gumboil
Grippa, Rhak and Tiny
Smirkanauf
Owen
Oakley
Granitas
The Oracle of Confusion

Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep play estranged spouses who become locked in a bittersweet custody battle over the thing that means the most to them, their Knightmare recordings, in KMer Versus KMer
Also coming soon to a magic mirror near you, Matt Damon plays a secret agent on the run from a mindless mechanical warrior with nothing better to do, in The Bored Automatum
