Kind of inspred by the All Star Teams thread, (Which I will get round to posting on!), I thought what if there were to be a Champion Of Champions series, where all the winning teams from each series battle to be the best team.
If there aren't enough winning teams to make a series, a couple of teams that got the closest without actually winning could be on 'standby'
what do you think?
Which team do you think would win?

Re:Champion Of Champions
Toughie for this one!!
A Trial of Champions type Series would be quality, especially with the age they are now it could be really tough :o
Not sure who would win, will have to watch all the Knightmares again and assess (however you spell it!) their performances based on who had more difficult quests etc.

Re:Champion Of Champions
How would the series be?
Would it be a knew series, or would it be an amalgamation of the previous series?
The early teams would probably be in their mid to late 30s by now.
But say this happened in about 1996, would that be more realistic.
Its a shame a series like this never happened, but it would have been great.
It would be good to include all the classic rooms, but add some knew ones too!
Who would get your vote?

Re:Champion Of Champions
I reckon you would need new, harder riddles and puzzles (for causeways etc.) but quick action rooms should be similar (Corridor of Blades, Bomb Room) and be much less forgiving! Rest of rooms could be same as older series but with new characters and plots basically should work
The question is Lord Fear or Mogdred? Eye Shield or No Eye Shield? Spyglasses or No-Spyglasses?

Re:Champion Of Champions
I would say there should be 10 teams, all the winners and the best from series 1 and 3 where there were no winners in those series so they would ahve been the champion of that seriesJamesA wrote: Contenders:

Re: Champion Of Champions
I'm not really convinced that a "Champion Of Champions" contest would work in Knightmare, because the teams weren't competing against each other. But if we're going to make it a contest, then let's make it 16 teams, which would allow a one-on-one knockout format.
OBVIOUSLY the eight winning teams, but aside from those:
Yes, Leo & Martin from series 3, and Richard from series 1, as already mentioned, alongside:
Alistair and Giles from series 4
Sofia and Chris from series 6
And any one of the following:
Simon or Alex from series 7
Daniel from series 8
Helen from series 4

Re: Champion Of Champions
Definitely Daniel from series 8, as his quest was the longest in terms of time from that series, and they damn near made it.
It'd be good to see Helen from series 4, as she was clearly in a final encounter when she died.

Re: Champion Of Champions
Obviously the concept of a Knightmare "champion of champions" is purely hypothetical, but it's interesting that it assumes the eight winning teams would automatically be eligible, plus a couple of "nearly" teams.
But would that actually provide the best selection of teams?
After much deliberation i created a list of "Knightmare's top ten teams" and ironically only five of the eight winning teams were on that list. I actually rated several losing teams higher than the winning team from their respective series.
Ok, maybe that sounds absurd, but it takes into account the fact that certain losing teams were excellent teams who either made a single mistake in level 3 or were extremely unlucky, whereas several winning teams had fairly unchallenging quests or in one case had several blatant reprieves which effectively guaranteed that they would win. (Admittedly these inconsistencies are down to the producers, not the teams.)
Losing (or undefeated) teams that i rate as better than some of the winning teams include:
Leo S3 T4 (in my opinion, the finest Knightmare team ever)
Martin S3 T11
Giles S4 T8
Sophia S6 T6
Nathan S8 T3
There were a few other losing teams who narrowly missed out as well.
