Fortress of Doom

By Keith McDonald

This heavily-guarded fortress contained the Level 1 wellway in the fourth series of Knightmare.

The Fortress of Doom, based on Castle Rising in Norfolk, was a regular feature in Series 4.

Teams often saw Eye Shield footage of the castle approach, before dungeoneers made their way into the fortress through the side entrance.

One team made a different approach to the fortress, via the gatehouse arch.

The fortress and its surrounds were heavily guarded, either by goblins ot the hapless guard, Fatilla the Hun.

Teams had to navigate these dangers to reach the wellway to Level 2.
