The text with the medal reads, "The Jean D'Arcy International Award for Video Production Awarded to Anglia Television's Adventure Game KNIGHTMARE".

Jean D'Arcy (1913-1983) was a director of French television programmes, becoming director of programming for a new state-run television network in the 1950s.

He is known as the founder of Eurovision, an initiative that launched and exchanged television programmes with other European countries.

D'Arcy was also well known for trying unusual technological techniques in television.
