Crazed Heifer

By Keith McDonald

A popular location in the dungeon, Knightmare's tavern was a regular source of supplies, information and gossip.

Knightmare's tavern was a mainstay during the years where the show focused on real-world locations.

The Crazed Heifer allowed dungeoneers to collect food and information.

A regular character from the series was usually present. Motley the Jester considered himself the resident entertainer during the tavern's early years (though the patrons didn't care much for his act).

He is eventually replaced by the troubador, Ridolfo, in Series 6. The following year, the tavern recruited a full-time waitress called Marta.

The tavern was also a favourite haunt of Sylvester Hands. Eventually, Lord Fear reprimands him for spending too long at 'The Mad Cow'.

The Crazed Heifer is based on the interior of Dragon Hall in Norfolk, a Grade 1 listed medieval trading hall located near Norwich Cathedral.

Inns like this are dubious places, but information and supplies can be had.
