Maybe wishful thinking on my part. I hope SOMETHING happens though! If not this year, we could do all we can to get a DVD released for the 25th, but after that, would there really be a point anymore. I really do hope something happens though...

We are talking about ITV broadband which shows old programmes! Okay, but you were asking about the original broadcaster. That's Children's ITV, not ITV Broadband. Either way, they'd still need to negotiate a new contract with Granada Media/Anglia before broadcasting Knightmare, or they'd be breaking the law. To the best of my knowledge, there's no 'automatic-reversion-of-rights' to the original broadcaster. Which is a shame looked at some ways. (Rights to the format for making shows can revert from a studio to the creators after about seven years, which is why it was possible for the KMVR remake to be attempted, but re-broadcast of material that's already been produced has to be renegotiated every time.)

Good thinking but it wouldnt work. Why? Because once you overcomplicate the format people switch off. It's a fact Kightmares linear nature is one of the things which made it popular. If you had 12 exits from each room and 10 on screen characters at a time no way would it of been as popular. Thats why I like series 3 the best. It had less chit chat and more fast paced action. Cheers for the Feedback but I think I have not explained myself properly! With VR the Dungeoneer will not be blindfolded, if using the same idea of KnightmareVR, so there would be no need for guides, hence why the KnightmareVR was just 1 dungeoneer. Therefore, why not have the whole team go through the same dungeon that it would be for 1 dungeoneer. Not 20 different exits but the same door options (whether 1,2 or 4) but where if one of the team dies they loose that member of the team and have to carry on. It would need some more thought to see whether viable but would be an interesting option. Having the Dungeoneers blindfolded in a VR Simulator almost makes it pointless to be VR, it may as well be the same as the older knightmare was done (depends on whether VR was cheaper to run than a Blue screen Room). Anyway, just thought would explain myself a bit better then I had. In summary, same quest design as older formats but with all 4 of the team in the Dungeon rather than just the 1 dungeoneer!

I think the game's really cool and great except the Combat Chess, which doesn't work. I do a knight's move and then I only move one space forward and then the bishop moves. I've worked out how to cross now but this may confuse other people. Also, it can be a bit repetitive. Could you do a completely differfent quest for each object? I have an XP and the quest for the crown didnt work for me the first time but did the second! And also, the Dance Remix doesn't work for me. It says it is in a 'bad or damaged format'. Can't wait to see the next version! Keep up the good work, djoska! Please notify me or just reply in this topic if a new version is out!

I love knightmare so much so instead of saying what i would have in another series ill tell you what i wouldnt! 1)id get rid of the reach wand(series 2)i wouldnt have too many landscape scenes as series four (and tregard asking to "look in eyeshield" every five minutes) 3)id get rid of being able to put items in knapsack(series eight) 4)I'd get rid of storm geists and bring back the ghoulies from early series. 5)id get rid of cake life force and bring back original one!

Some very interesting insights into what could possibly occur for Knightmare in the future. I think the major problem with the blue screen tech, even though it has advanced since the days of KM, it is still seen as being generally too out dated to spend money on. It is true that we live in a far more advanced society than we did in 1994 (in technical ways if not anything else!), and it would appear even VR fails to impress people these days.

Acting in Knightmare series 9 would be pretty good... Scaring dungeoneers and advisers with extra-evil obstacles and so forth. In the end credits of one episode in series 4 (I think) there was an excellent obstacle with a narrow zig-zagging path over a chasm, and over all that a pendulum like an axe blade was swinging. That would've been a good one, but I don't know if they ever used it.

I really hope it isn't on every day. I don't think it would have enough mass appeal to be shown daily - despite its quality. A daily showing might kill it, for two reasons: 1) Over-showing could make the audience grow tired of it, as you say. Daily live shows might seem hurriedly put together, marring the quality of what SHOULD be an awesome programme. I doubt Knightmare VR will be anything more than a cult show, and that's how it should be. I would like, half an hour of unbroken questing, once a week (Friday evening, ideally), 16-25 episodes per series.

However other teams may be harder to find, especially those from series 2 I suspect. I think that there is sometimes contact with Jason Karl (Julian) one of the series 2 winning dungeoneers. He has also done a couple or few knightmare related interviews. I think that he has contact with one or two of his advisors, not sure though. Also if you read the series 2 team guides it has that Dan Allen and Mark Whickson (team 4 1st winning team, advisor and dungeoneer) and also Vaughan Simpson (team 10 2nd winning team, advisor) have signed the main site guestbook. So it is a possibility to still be able to find members of series 2 teams.

Now heres my Ideal line up of characters who are nither here nor there. The Nutrals. Greystag: (The best of all The Nutrals in my oppinion.) Elita: (I had a crush on her as a kid so of corse I'm going to inclued the rude little cow.) The Bolracan: (Purley to give Grimalden a reson to be in the dungeon.) Olaf: (Just out for him self now.) Reverand Parker: (A Christian Missonary who has wander into the dungeon by mistake. He abhorse both The Powers That Be & The Opposition because he sees there use of magic as paganisam, but he will help dungeoneers if they can pleses him some how.) Stileta: (Yes agine mainly for Eye Candy, But I also like this character and was sorry she never got more time in the dungeon.) Oke-Quill: (Againe based on the notion of an underwater Level. This Sea Weed Creature acts like The Bollrarcan & Okely quizzing Dungeoneers.)

I don't think that would be very necessary - I think it would be better to explain the changes in the new series when it arrives. Most of its audience would be newcomers to the show, I think, so explaining about changes should only be done occasionally and in an off-hand manner as a sort of nudge and a wink to old fans.

Well done lads and lasses some nice ideas comming out now imaginations doing overtime.  Weve all seen KM set in its current time but I wonder if it had been originaly set in another place or time would we now be saying that medieval is better.  I think its a matter of perception as what you have already seen is better.   Anyway hows about a wildwest KM?.  A large 10 gallon hat can be used as a blindfold and a large cloak ( Like Clint Eastwood in a fistful of dollars ) could be used to put food and itmes behind.  The game story can be very wild west i.e your the gunslinger or alike walking into a remote town and the adventure begins.  Obviously in the wild west setting there is a great range of friends and foes so I wont go into that.  Puzzels couldhave things like a gunfight where the advisors move the westerneer left and right in a gunfight, avoiding the oppositions bullets and also telling when to fire to hit the opponent.  The equivilent of a wellway could be stagecoach which takes you to the next twn.  That stage coach could be attacked by indians maybe, with spaers that must be avoided. Hmm imagination getting the best of me lol.

Again, this adds to the wonderful debate about the unknowns of the new project. What would work, what wouldn't? What would please all, what wouldn't? I'm in agreement with those who agree that Knightmare couldn't be the same without Hugo Myatt - certain elements are always just too prominent to be missing. As far as the avatar technology goes, I find it difficult to think of how a computerised clone could interact with the same ~ humour, expression.. everything. I blank my mind totally from the sprite from V.I. - it's totally different, but it does come to mind nonetheless. Given the amount of communication that went on in later series, the lack of human inclusion could be a little more ackward - but given how a lot of Treguard's wisdom through Series 2 came diffused through the playing screen, maybe there are possibilities. As I've said before, I have total trust in Tim Child that, as the original creator of the greater game, his decisions will only be the best for the new game.

And I would prefer dungeon crawls rather than outside scenes. Yeah, I would definitely agree with that.  The concept of the dungeons underneath Knightmare castle were abandoned a bit too prematurely in my opinion. I hope that they keep in line with computer graphics though.  I say this because during series 6 and 7 the dwarf tunnel scenes were made using real 'hand crafted' tunnels rather than the computer generated ones of the earlier series.  It didn't add anything to the game; you just knew that there was a cameraman behind the dungeoneer and there weren't any bats with disproportionally large teeth anymore  :D.

What about doing a adult version then? Actually, bad idea. There's too many already.
