Not sure if you mean the original TV series that started in 1987 and lasted regrettably only 6 or 7 years thereafter or the entire franchise as a whole. I'd like to think it applies to all things Knightmare and Tim Child's idea and production to make it a reality that continues to this day. It's such a shame the series not only didn't survive beyond the early / mid 1990's and that a DVD collection release never seemed obtainable. We've had spin offs and online parodies that while fun and offer a certain intrigue, just can't match the enthralment or experience of the original series. Maybe it's down to age perspective as things just aren't the same as you remember them but for what's it worth I take the opportunity to offer and provide all things Knightmare a sincere anniversary mention. Surely there's an event planned for next year to mark the 40 year turning. Hugo Myatt and all surviving cast members hopefully get together and provide something like a fan access day. It sounds plausible but not sure how far they'll actually get with it.

I was at Warwick Castle last month. No sign of Fidjit at the entrance. Ha, that does look very similar! (Fidjit was at Simancas Castle, though.)

Having noted the many similarities between Lord Fear and Sauron, it occurred to me recently that his Series 8 incantations might be intended to resemble Black Speech, which has the same kind of harsh sounds (and includes "ash" among the few words Tolkien invented). Interestingly we see this again in Lords Of The Game where Lord Fear's name is Veerash - very Orkish-sounding! (His middle name less so, haha.)

The final instalment of the audio drama series The Dunshelm Players began way back in 2006 was expected to be made and released some years ago, and an early draft of the script, working title 'Tech-Topia,' was written in 2018-19. But we ended up leaving it in limbo due to a general lack of audience. Back at Christmas 2025, you may remember, we released a one-off play called All Must Surely Be An Illusion to test to see whether there was a renewed appetite for the audios. Sadly, after eight months, the play has still had well under 100 views on YouTube. The audience simply isn't there to the extent that it is worth the considerable effort required to make Tech-Topia. With this in mind, we have now officially abandoned all plans to record the play. Apologies to anyone who was hoping to hear it eventually. I am aware though that some of our listeners would still like to know what happened after the end of the Techno-Colour Tales. Therefore, the draft script mentioned above is now available to read from our website. You can see it at https://dunshelmplayers.wordpress.com/dramas/tech-topia-script-only/ As this was an early draft, it is not necessarily how the story would have finally played out. But we'll never know the final form it would have taken, and for anyone who wants to know what happens next, this is about the nearest you are going to get. I finally hit level 40. It doesn't seem real. I haven't done/changed much in the last decade, still wear the same clothes, still have the same hobbies, etc. Still waiting for life to start so I can do all of the things I wanted to do 'when I was a grown up'. So don't feel as though I've earned the right to be 40 yet. It's very surreal! Started in this forum when I was all but 16 back in 2003. I'll be 40 next year and it's been such a fun ride in the Knightmare community. From college projects, to starting a family, Knightmare will always be a special part of my life

The book I've been reading cited the work of a cognitive psychologist called Chaz Firestone. I wonder if Tim Child knew anyone with that surname!

Has anyone ever reached out to the actress and psychotherapist Eleanor Tremain who was an advisor in the Knightmare pilot? I wonder if she has any memories of it.

I've spent a good part of today chatting to Gary Napper. He's probably best known nowadays as the production designer on the videogame Alien: Isolation, but a little over 20 years ago he was a member of a group of lads who called themselves Freshlove Productions. Expect an episode on the Knightmare spoof "Bad Dreem" soon My partner who lives in America once casually said "Ewar Woowar" and halted me in my tracks. He only had passing knowledge of Knightmare at the time so how he even found Bad Dreem, I have no idea

Perhaps not a full MMORPG, but you could do something like an asymmetric VR game (one player has a headset and the others watch and guide them via a regular computer screen). Something like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Acron Attack Of The Squirrels, Davigo, Panoptic, etc. You could have a lobby system (the multiplayer part) where new players find people to create a team and maybe other players can choose to watch games while they aren't active. They compete as individuals and/or teams, but while in a game they are alone in the dungeons.
