The story

Three young teens from South London follow a stray dog down a strange alley leading to the hidden Knightmare Castle. Here, the dastardly Lord Fear captures them together with Treguard. Fear's next goal is to destroy the aimable dragon Smirkenorff the Dragon and gain his power. The young crew must find a way to release the Dungeon Master and descend into the dungeons below the castle to stop him.

The game

The Quest For The Dragon's Egg. In a departure from the previous gamebooks, you must choose a skill from a set list to help you earn the fare for the galleon Pendragon, which sails to where the dragon eggs are found. Once aboard, there are other challenges to navigate, with Captain Tarbuck and his shifty crew. When you reach the Draconis Isles, you must enter the volcano, steal an egg, then find a way to get it back to Treguard.
