The story

Set in the thirteenth century, Treguard is looking for support against the tyrannical King John. When he reaches St Severine's Abbey, he discovers that Richard the Lionheart had a child which is held captive in the Fortress of Death. He sets off with the young Dugald of St. Julien on a mission across scorching desert land and freezing mountains to rescue the child, the true heir to the throne. Once he reaches the fortress, there are numerous foes awaiting him.

The game

You must prove your worth as a knight and reclaim a priceless crystal key. You'll encounter Pickle, Treguard's new assistant, in various guises, and deal with a number of in-game characters from the opening years of Knightmare. You'll deal with foes such as boggarts, vampires and a devil-knight, before a final showdown with the unpredictable sorceress, Malice.
