In the early series, there seems to have been a definitive, specific, laid out path. An item was used in a particular location and if you didn't have the item (for whatever reason) when it was needed then you died. The problem is that this lead to the situation where you can do badly in the clue room and still get through the dungeon by being lucky with your selection of items. On the other hand, if you did well, picked up exactly the right items, but missed a clue (or didn't understand the advice given) you were certainly dead. So bad teams could progress and good teams could fail, and it wasn't necessarily clear why. Later series seem to have eased up on this and there always seems to have been an alternative approach available for taking the wrong items (at least in level 1).

Could someone please help? I'd really like to see the extended version. You can now watch the original upload of the extended Geek Week episode here. There's also a later upload here. Let us know what you think of it. Something I've only just noticed: the first thing to happen in the episode is a facing-away-from-the-camera sidestep (by Veruca). Surely deliberate? Thank you! Great to see the extra stuff! Also nice to hear the opening theme tune fade out naturally without the door-creaking-open sound effect at the end.

Hugo has been known to make a few cameo appearances at Knightmare Live performances - both he and Mark Knight featured at the Leicester Square Theatre performance in November last year.

I wonder if the Lords Of The Game pilot will forever remain a convention exclusive or if there might still be any future opportunity to see it. (And the pilot eps of Knightmare, for that matter. Would be cool if Tim could dig them out for the 40th anniversary next year!) I fear it’s unlikely. The pilot was filmed as “not for broadcast” so I imagine that legally it cannot be distributed. We did ask if we could include it on the DVD but although he gave it serious consideration, Tim said nay. I fear the pilots may have the same status

Historically accurate?! In Knightmare?! You have GOT to be kidding me! Somehow I doubt Tim Child intended historical accuracy. It's a kids (and adults) show!

If Arawn had been in the show, it would just have ticked me off more, since the actual Arawn is a figure from Celtic/Welsh mythology, and is the prince of the Celtic Hades, not a poncy bloody elf...

No not really since the Franklin was an old man, a Justice of the peace and a Knight of the shire (nothing to do with Hobbitts). Ridolpho was a travelling Itallian trupador, he was annoying but fairly histocially accurate.

They did go rather nuts, didn't they? Think you'll find that was Becki's team. They tended to laugh and cover their heads when it came to a tough situation, oh well. I am fairly sure it was Team 1 S7 who had a bit of a shirty dungeoneer, with his constant 'Move me then!' comments. May have mixed them up, but whoever it was, he was in a bad mood.

This is a tricky question but an interesting one... Which characters get on your nerves, but in your eyes are slightly redeemed by not being quite as awful as other characters who filled their role previously/afterwards? For instance, Mellisandre usually annoyed me but she was nowhere near as awful as her predecessor, Gretal. Equally, Gumboil's drunken rantings could get irritating, but at least he was more interesting than Raptor etc.

Actually, I'm not entirely sure where I picked up that information from. I didn't even take history for GCSE. I tend to pick up little bits of limited knowledge on things. I don't know virtually anything about the Teutonic Knights. I have a smattering in the Templars though and a very basic knowledge of Tudor Britain. My main area of history though is Fuedal Japan and China. Yet there was very little of this used in KM.

There's no light beam as such in the S3 pic, but the image of the window itself is still being projected on the floor. Look at that, and see the angle of it in relation to the window itself.

and some more:- In theory, EVERY quest that encounters the scorpion or flame rooms from early series gets stung or flambe'd. Watch for the chromakey errors as the dungeoneer runs past the obstacle (probably the same reason why the 1st set of spikes in 'trial by spikes' would disappear once the team were thru).
