In the early series, there seems to have been a definitive, specific, laid out path. An item was used in a particular location and if you didn't have the item (for whatever reason) when it was needed then you died. The problem is that this lead to the situation where you can do badly in the clue room and still get through the dungeon by being lucky with your selection of items. On the other hand, if you did well, picked up exactly the right items, but missed a clue (or didn't understand the advice given) you were certainly dead. So bad teams could progress and good teams could fail, and it wasn't necessarily clear why. Later series seem to have eased up on this and there always seems to have been an alternative approach available for taking the wrong items (at least in level 1).

Could someone please help? I'd really like to see the extended version. You can now watch the original upload of the extended Geek Week episode here. There's also a later upload here. Let us know what you think of it. Something I've only just noticed: the first thing to happen in the episode is a facing-away-from-the-camera sidestep (by Veruca). Surely deliberate? Thank you! Great to see the extra stuff! Also nice to hear the opening theme tune fade out naturally without the door-creaking-open sound effect at the end.

Hugo has been known to make a few cameo appearances at Knightmare Live performances - both he and Mark Knight featured at the Leicester Square Theatre performance in November last year.

I wonder if the Lords Of The Game pilot will forever remain a convention exclusive or if there might still be any future opportunity to see it. (And the pilot eps of Knightmare, for that matter. Would be cool if Tim could dig them out for the 40th anniversary next year!) I fear it’s unlikely. The pilot was filmed as “not for broadcast” so I imagine that legally it cannot be distributed. We did ask if we could include it on the DVD but although he gave it serious consideration, Tim said nay. I fear the pilots may have the same status

Just having a think, trying to remember back in the day (when fumbling Dungeoneers annoyed me rather than be my favourite as they are now) for gripes and I recalled this one that seems odd now. I never used to like how when they picked up some food with the life force face displayed, it used to reset but before disappearing offscreen would start going down again.  Usually just those 'helmet eye brow protectors' or whatever they were   coming off - It was as if you could never quite have full energy. Sounds stupid I know but I do recall that bugging me back then, obviously I see now that the whole energy thing was just something to hurry you along - as I mentioned on another thread, Tregars 'Bad TV Warning!'

I might make one in my barn, and put a bucket on people head. Then if they fall off a cliff or something you could hit them with a plank of wood or something. They wouldnt make the same mistakes twice in MY dungeon!

(Illusion, please take note) I remember a thread on the Website Feedback forum where somebody mentioned an error - series 8, team 5 lasting only 11 minutes. Illusion pointed out that it was 11 minutes in one episode, then 12 minutes in another episode (total 23 minutes). This has been changed on the Teams page, but this quest is still mentioned on the 'home page' of series 8 as the shortest quest (apart from team 7, which was cut short for the end of the season) lasting 11 minutes. Team 7 is correct as the overall shortest quest, but since the corection above, this has got forgotten - the next shortest quest should be team 1 at 14 minutes. Thanks, I will get this corrected. This team is obviously not correct, but I can find no other team in all 8 series this this description fits. Illusion, have you included absolutely every team and not omitted this team, either accidentally or because it was 'not important'? Yes every team has been listed. I think I recall discussing this with Phil (who wrote that article from memory) a few years ago. We confirmed that no team actually died in the first room and therefore I think he said his memory must have been playing tricks!

As I've said there was sometimes poor and communication break downs. Also I wish that there was a way for Illusion to put that Giles/brother mace classical clip on the site! As well as the corridore of blades clip during that quest

I never found anything particularly scary about Knightmare, although the early Series did have this never-know-what's-behind-the-corner feel. So did the later Series to an extent but not as obvious. I just enjoyed the programme.

The End Of Season 8 Should Of Been More Complex And Also Series 8 Should Of Been About 14 Episodes Long And They Should Of Keeped The Costumes From Season 6-7 And Also Have Some Of The Old Chracters Like Mogdred Making A Return To Be Lord Fear's 2nd In Command Because He Can Help Kill The Dungeoneers Off That Would Of Been Great

No, that team were complete idiots. The wall-monster said "Justice lies on the right", presumably meaning to take the right hand door, but for some reason they took the left door.

The letters appearing ("EXCALIBAR", bad spelling I know) were actually in the early part of series 3.
