Bit late to kick up a fuss about this one I know, but it was actually called the AutoMATUM. (Automaton is a proper noun.) Still, it was an automaton after a fashion, so it's still a valid entry. Just about.

Well I got That spelling of the main site so I assumed it was correct.

I'll double-check from the tapes, but as far as I can remember it was AUTOMATUM in the credits (although I only think the part was credited once  -  all the other times Edmund Dehn was credited for playing Gumboil).
