Congratulations, Annie - SHIELD scores you 1 point and brings your total to 1, seeing you safely through to the next round. This time, however, I can't tell you that you're exactly right - it was Series 1, not Series 2... but other than that, spot on! Merlin awarded SHIELD to Richard's team (the last of the series) but they never got an opportunity to use it... or not one that we were allowed to see, anyway!

BACKFIRE was acquired from a scroll by Ben's winning team from Series 6, but they abandoned it on the advice of Greystagg. BACKFIRE is therefore possibly the most pointless spell ever to feature on Knightmare!

Ariadne rather rushed Richard's team into a decision by chasing them out of her lair and they chose the wrong thing - the horn instead of the gold! Gwendoline had given them an obscure clue about bribing their way through to the Gate Tower, but I've never judged them too harshly for failing to take it into account in the heat of the moment. Rosey scores 4 points.

Foolishly, Stuart's team opted to take a dagger (or "knoife", as they prefered to call it) instead of a divining rod in the level 2 clue room, and they soon paid the price. Annie, you also score 4 points.

Without the horn to bring down the Wall of Jericho, Richard came to a dead end at the very end of Series 1, and the production team had to wait a whole year to show off their fabulous brick-removing special effects! Amy, you ALSO also score 4 points!

Yes, there are far too many 4s on there! Maeve was the killer answer, while Richard from Series 8 (the only Richard not chosen by our contestants!) would have given someone a clear lead.
We're now going to come back down the line and try to find out which two contestants will make it through to the head-to-head - let's just hope there'll be something between the three of them at the end of the round, unlike now!
