This may come as a shock to you but Fort Boyard has constently been a ratings winner for Challenge, so much so they are making a whole new series.
Also its NOTHING to do with the Knightmare timeslot as when Takeshis Castle was in that slot it was getting 200,000+ viewers some weeks.
I hope Challenge buy the rights to series 7 or 8 but to be honist i cant see that happening.
Well at least Challenge gave the show a second chance in a new slot.
I doubt pressure on the forums would work this time as the show is just not bringing in the ratings, i know for a fact that they never managed to reach 80,000 viewers for any of the episodes in series 4. The 6 PM timeslot that they are showing Knightmare was pulling in 200,000+ viewers when Takeshis Castle was shown in that slot, even putting Knightmare between its two most popular shows didnt give Challenge enough viewers.
I just hope that some channel in the future has the guts to give Knightmare a go.
Sadly i dont think they have improved enough for Challenge to keep the show.

I have asked on the challenge forums about ratings and we have been fobbed off. To me thats not a good sign, as if it was doing good they would shout about it.

Was watching Takeshi last night and what should show up but a Knightmare advert. Some guys in an office one with a bucket on his head and the other three directing him.
Quite funny i thought but at the same time got the feeling that challenge were trying to atract an adult audience in this ad.
What do other people think?
I am not sure if any of you have noticed this topic in the challenge forum yet but it looks like Challenge are willing to pick up all series of Knightmare AND are planning on working with Televirtual in the near future to create a new show to air early next year.
Some fantastic news not only do we have Timegate and the new live Knightmare but we also have this to look forward to if it comes about.
Well Challenge said the ratings were not high enough as one of the reasons for binning the show.
Some of you members made some fantastic points that changes their minds. Things about adverts and when Knightmare was shown were noted and it looks like these were the reasons for Challenge buying the rights to series 4.
We all now have to make sure that series 4 gets into the top 10 most watched Challenge shows so they will buy the rights to more series.
If the ratings dont improve this time i think we have very little chance of getting another season as they Challenge have done everything we asked and we will then have very few points to argue.
Make sure you tell everybody you know to tune in and make the show a hit for Challenge.

It's pleasing news to know that challenge has bought the rights to series 3 of knightmare. It's only the first 8 episodes of the 16 but it is a start!!! I've been reading threads on the forum saying about FTN channel on FREEVIEW. Do they have partial tv rights or full tv rights to future series of knightmare?? Or is this the case with challenge tv on sky digital? I know the future of it depends on the ratings but i'm pretty sure a tv rights contract was signed along the way by either challenge or FTN. Can someone fill me in on this???

Currently it will be shown on Challenge only, if ratings are high it maybe shown on FTN.
Challenge would be stupid not to show Knightmare in full as ive heard its way in the lead on the cult Christmas poll.

Over the last few days i have not been able to keep up with teh sudden burst of news and am getting a bit confused. I have a few questions i hope somebody can answer.
what is this new programme coming to CITV?
Is the programme thats coming to CITV the one thats being talked about in the forums as the next Knightmare (The Televertual programme)or is that something different.
if the Televertual programme is different then what info do you have on that?
Is Time Gate still planned ?

I have just found out the following
Flextech has no plans to show Knightmare on FTN (this could change)
They will be showing series 3 in full through Jan. They will be showing episdoes 1 and 2 on the 23 and 26th of Dec and maybe a further episdoe is it wins the cult TV poll.
I dont know if this is the right place to post but i have some news on FTN, its due to start on the 15th of Jan.
I have sent an email to Flextech (Challenge) asking about the series they have the rights to, if they plan to show it on FTN and if they will be showing it after Jan 1st (when cult Xmas ends).
I know quite a few people at challenge as i mod their chatroom so i hope to give you and answer ASAP.

What i was trying to say that its NOT a new series and that it is re-runs. Thats good for anybody that does not have digital Tv though.
I have just gotten word that Knightmare is to return to CITV as part of a 20 years of CITV.
The details are vague at the moment but it will be reruns from the begining.
