    Rosey and I have been watching Series 2 & 3 recently. I always find it rather sobering to watch a Knightmare actor whom I've found out has passed away since the last time I saw them. Tom Karol created some really entertaining scenes.

    Very sorry to read this. It's not much comfort, but due to its nature Knightmare itself could potentially be recreated in many alternative studios around the UK.

    Such sad news!! Having been out of the Knightmare "loop" for a while, I have only just found out. A commanding presence in any show he appeared in, and his bringing to life of Hordriss was of course perfection!! Rest In Peace

    I have only watched a few things on ITVX and I only ever tinkered a little bit with BritBox. Of course I was thrilled that Knightmare appeared on BritBox (I have no idea whether or not it still is) but I also think it would be a fantastic addition to ITVX. I'm sure Knightmare would be a big hit on the service/app as people who are fans would watch (as long as it had enough advertising) and hopefully there would be enough people watching who sort of remember it or just stumble across it by chance. Anywhere that Knightmare can be shown officially would of course get my full backing (for what it's worth) and it could pave the way for more fantastic CITV classics to have new permanent home. In fact, I'm surprised there isn't a ton of them available already.

    Why do you have personal affection for series 4, anyway? Just curious! Despite it being too quiet, rather slow and very repetative, I like the characters that series. Grundrada was a personal favourite. She was great at improv! I like Ariadne and this was probably her most featured series. I also like the teams that series too. And I've always been fascinated by castle ruins so I like the aesthetic too.

    Watching Treguard on Dick & Dom in da Bungalow

    On 21st February 2004, Hugo Myatt appeared on Saturday morning CBBC series Dick & Dom in da Bungalow, apparently as Treguard (i.e. dressed similarly and saying "Ooh nasty" to close the episode). Knightmare.com (i.e. Nic Lam / Illusion) had been told in advance, in turn told the community and it was big news at the time. There was a short thread about it on this forum and a longer one on the Knightmare Back-Up Forum (an off-topic forum that took on a more prominent role during the Knightmare.com forum's periods of downtime). If you search on a well-known video sharing site, you may be able to find an uploaded recording of this episode, minus the "Ooh nasty".

    Thanks for sharing Drassil. I've only just come across this, and it's great to see the website relaunched as a tribute to the legacy he left behind. Having met him in person, I feel that the words of his kind and giving nature on the site are all fully justified too.

The book includes a chapter on Guys time on Knightmare and the memories of Hugo Myatt, Tom Karol, Edmund Dehn, Tim Child, Suzanne Duncanson, Sally Freeman, Allan Haynes and Tom Hunt.     Thanks, David. This has brought back happy memories of when I got Knightmare mentioned on Kerrang Radio all the way back in 2007. I've just been enjoying the sound clips of this particular mention, which I have somehow managed to re-obtain.

    Last month's issue of Wireframe (Issue 40) had an article abut 'the tricky process of introducing video game elements to television shows'. Knightmare features heavily: Tim Child is interviewed and Hugo Myatt comments too. The issue is available as a free PDF: https://wireframe.raspberrypi.org/issues/40 While Knightmare articles and interviews often retread old ground these days, I enjoyed reading an anecdote I wasn't familiar with about Tim's pre-Knightmare chromakey experiments. Having written two articles for Knightmare.com about Last Commanders, I was pleased to see it in the spotlight alongside Knightmare. Ryan Meloy, producer of Last Commanders, talks about how Knightmare spoke to him.

    Knightmare featured in 'Prog 2179, and a little bit in the previous week'. Being the curious person that I am, I decided to also purchase a copy of Prog 2178 to investigate Knightmare's presence in that edition. I noticed that the last panel to feature Knightmare here has a delightfully gory decapitation scene. Ooooh Nasty!!!!

    The video clip I linked to does have flaws, but the one shown at the event was from a Challenge TV repeat. Some of the other clips had logos that weren't blurred out, such as a (poor quality) clip of Art Attack from a Children's Channel repeat. If the BFI ever does an '80s kids' TV event, I hope Knightmare will feature more prominently. Trying to do justice to '90s kids' TV in two hours was ambitious. A different panel and different clips could have taken things in a different direction, but Tony Robinson had plenty of insights as someone who's been on both sides of the camera over many years.

    Interesting list. Funny, of all the supposed 'hide behind the sofa' moments I never found Dr. Who scary at all. Terrahawks I remember finding scary. Knightmare I certainly found scary as I was only 5 when episode 1 aired and it certainly kept up the (Lord) fear factor during it's incredible run. But that just added to it all the more and made it that much more exciting!

    It's absurd that Knightmare isn't included in the initial list, can only imagine whoever put together the shows presented had never seen an episode of our great programme. Newsround was a strange choice for number 3, can remember it from the 1980s with John Craven, but it's (or was) an information program, not so much a show for children ? Furthermore no room for inclusion programmes like Button Moon, The Flumps or Moomins (that I can recall from an earlier age) Relief that Rainbow was in it, but at position 30 ? , Yes it's that kind of list.

    Just had another look at this. There are some great Knightmare characters missing, but these lists are always subjective and I'm sure everyone would have a slightly or even drastically different top 10. I was never keen on Gundrada and Romahna I could take or leave, though the part was played well so I was more keen on her depending on which quest she was involved in. I would also have put Grimaldine and Skarkill on the list if it were up to me...
