Lol indeedy! To be honest I hadn't known about it for years as a lot of my VHS copies had the intros and credits chopped off! I blame that Battersby fellow as most of the tapes were copies off his dodgy batch from the Trading Post!! Do you know, I am still waiting for a replacement for tape 2 of series 8?! Shocking!!

Malice /Morghana pretty much the same character wasn't she, they dressed the same, in my head I liked to think they were mother and daughter.. lol

I would quite like that actress back who played Malice and Gundrada. Would have liked to have seen her do more than 1 series. Although given her swordsmanship at the end of season 4, Gundrada may have come a cropper before too long!!

We went down that route a few years ago, and it had nowhere near enough support.

Lol perhaps around 15 DVDs for the episodes alone then perhaps another 5 for the extras? Lol would be a fair sized box set!!

I think someone else further up on this thread requested sight of the additional cut footage and if it would be possible, it would be amazing to see this, please, in whatever format possible!!

1. I would hope there would be room for another jester as I would love to see Alec Westwood back as Folly.

You know what, I didn't consider the fact this was being worked on to a supplied brief - it didn't occur to me at all but makes complete sense.

I have had a second watch through and whilst I stand by my comments in my original post, it is still good to have had something, albeit not quite what we are used to, of Knightmare. Whilst there is something in it for us oldies, I do hope this raises the profile for the young 'uns, what with the trendy YouTube kids being on it. I am definitely old, I have no clue who the advisers were!! At least I am cool enough to say I knew who Ashens was!!

So, I've watched it!

The old format still works and I do think it has potential to work in this format going forward.

I won't lie, it wasn't a perfect episode (and god knows I wanted it to be!). Yes the opening wasn't great, but once the game got going I did get into it.

I loved to see David Rowe's drawings get a CGI revamp, and the inclusion of Ariadne was fantastic. Although I also think she needed to be 'real.' Having Hugo, Cliff and Mark back was the highlight and their performances were as brilliant as ever. Daisy was a tad wooden, especially in the opening scene, but Sylvester and Theodora were okay.

There were a couple of iffy jump cuts going on in Treguard's and Lord Fear's chamber respectively, which looked a bit odd. Plus I was disappointed to see the sound effects were missing. None for magic etc and where was the death bong? Not sure if this was a copyright issue, but no death can be satisfying without a loud bong!! I don't remember seeing the life force at that point either!!

By the end, I didn't want it to finish there and so I did get into it after a shaky start. Like most people I want Knightmare to have a new series and sincerely hope this is the start of something. If it continued to improve as it did toward the end of the episode then this could work. Not sure if it would be on TV as before, but webisodes could be the way forward.

Hopeful to see more going on in the Knightmare world as a result of this.
