Hi folks, just having a clear-out and found a couple of items you might be interested in. Specifically the trophy that was given out to each of us at the end of our quest as well as the commemorative t-shirt we got.

Season 7 Prizes -
Series 7 - Episode 15Heh, glad we sparked off such discussion. We had fun making it so if people have fun watching it we've all won.
Just a couple of points of interest:
-
The Lifeforce bit is added later. We didn't get to see the graphic and the earliest we know that our food is running out is when Treguard gives his warning. We really had no way of knowing how long we had left. I imagine the Lifeforce concept is there purely to add to the tension rather than actually be a possible death. If the symbol was on a skeleton before we got to the water that's more the fault of the nice computer engineer who put it in in post-production!

You are quite right about the tottering on the edge in the fireball room. At the time however we couldn't see that as the lighting in the studio ment the screen was a lot darker to us! We could barely see the edges, let alone navigate them properly!
-
The spinning blades near-miss became a bit of a joke around the studio. People kept coming up to Barry to check the tear in his shirt...
Like I've said before, we weren't "due" to win that season (as I understood it), but by the time we got through to the last few rooms they realised we might actually do it and just went with the idea. The room with the spikes coming out of the floor was actually filmed much later to act as a bit of filler.
I think accusing us or Broadsword of cheating is a little harsh. We certainly couldn't cheat, we just did our best in the world as it was presented to us. Broadsword on the other hand probably "cheated" all the time. They were there to tell and story and make good TV first and foremost. You can't just let it fall as it will in the world of TV, you need some level of control if you want to maintain the quality of the show. However, what's done is done and I for one had a great time.

Series 7 - Episode 12Ever got the feeling that he had seen the dwarf tunnels before they filmed him in the dwarf tunnels.
Kind of. I'll let you into a secret...
spoilerThe Dwarf Tunnels were shaped like an A. They were made of two sets of two parallel corridors. The first set intersected by the second at the top and middle, making a squared-off A. We had seen this beforehand and Barry just decided to go ahead and wander around./spoiler
And the Troll footsteps were a form of foreshadowing. When the first occurred we on the bench couldn't hear them. But as our adventure progressed they went from something only Barry could hear, to something we all could hear, (and as the climx episode arrived) to something only we in the antechamber could hear. Really did encourage us to get a move on!

Anybody know what contestants are doing now?Oh, how we suffer for our art...

Anybody know what contestants are doing now?Whilst the memories of that time are something I'll treasure forever, I still have to cringe every time I see myself on the show. I know it was a long time ago, but I still can't believe I wore that hawaian shirt...

Favourite EndTo be fair (and I know I'm biased, I was there) the only bit of our ending (Season 7) that was fixed was the "mysterious" reappearance of the eye shield.
Talking with Mr. Child at the time he mentioned they didn't normally like having more than one team win a season. So we weren't "due" to. In fact the next team was being lined up.
When they realised we'd actually got quite far and that the next team wouldn't have much of a go we had to shoot some extra footage as filler. Probably this is the reason for such a climactic final.
And yes, the lifeforce bits get edited in later. The only clue you get that the dungeoneer is hungry is Treguard's warnings.
