Sounds like a lot of effort has gone into this. I'm looking forward to seeing this come to fruition.

The book I've been reading cited the work of a cognitive psychologist called Chaz Firestone. I wonder if Tim Child knew anyone with that surname!

I recently watched Star Wars series The Mandalorian. Interestingly, Jedi Master Kelleran Beq - the host character in Jedi Temple Challenge, played by Ahmed Best - appears briefly in The Mandalorian. I wonder if there are any other examples of a gameshow character appearing in a full-fiction TV series or film. Imagine if Hugo Myatt appeared as Treguard in a drama!

The name of a recently sacked BBC presenter reminds me that Knightmare Series 2 Quest 13 featured a Scot (aka dungeoneer Karen) in the Mills of Doom.

The Knightlife Brewing Company have a Knightmare Calzone eating challenge for anyone who's feeling brave enough - click here for details. Some of you may be interested to know that this brewery is located in Poole, Dorset... Can't say I've ever noticed it despite walking past it multiple times!

Well, I THINK it's unintended anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At_LNDO1eq0 Wow, and we thought the place-of-choice scenes in the series went on too long.....

In Mike & Angelo Series 7 Episode 5 (February 1995), from 5 minutes 40 seconds in, Angelo sprays homemade Cat Pong to get rid of suspected mice. The sound effect is very similar, if not identical, to a sound that many CITV viewers would have heard a few months earlier: the Reach Wand zapping runes in Knightmare Series 8.

Thank you to fellow forum member Snowcat (Andrew) for finding this: a restored clip from the 1934 Popeye cartoon Can You Take It showing a blindfolded Popeye tackling an obstacle course that includes circular saws. Instagram post, Facebook post

According to a recent social media post from Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 'If you have 'vim,' there's a 99% chance you also have 'vigor.'' Not on Knightmare!

They wanted to know how it was done - what was real and what was not. Earlier this year, we had a trip to 'Wolfenden', too (https://www.wealddown.co.uk/).

In passage 61 of The Quest for the Dragon's Egg (a.k.a. the gamebook section of The Forbidden Gate), Pickle remarks that a large pineapple "Looks like a hand grenade" then adds "At least, it will do once hand grenades have been invented" when 'he remembers that Knightmare Castle exists in medieval times.' However, there is evidence of grenade-like projectiles being used at the time of the Crusades. This post in The History Blog has details.

Cheers, although it's not exactly a 'find' in the way you mean. I lived on the hill opposite to the Roman wall as a kid, and I was aware of the Catacombs long before Knightmare began.

In Back to the Future II-III, Michael J. Fox plays four characters including two genders, two nationalities and a spouse. In Knightmare Series 2-3, Tom Karol does the same.

I was just reading the article on this website by Jason Karl (formerly Julian Smith) about his appearance on "The Satellite Game". The piccy of his team is slightly blurred, but are they his Knightmare-winning teammates Mary Dixon & Vaughan Simpson?

On QI there's a klaxon they use whenever someone gives an answer that is obvious and wrong. I find this sound effect disconcerting because it reminds me strongly of the bugle blasts that heralded the end of Knightmare Series 3.

In Chapter 6 of Doctor Who: Flux, hearing the name Kragar reminded me of a certain Knightmare character. (Kragar was played by Dan Starkey, who has been a Knightmare Live advisor.) The same episode had a scene that reminded me of Knightmare Series 2. Knightmare Doctor Who Flux.jpg [image: Knightmare Doctor Who Flux.jpg]

The Word Watch quiz in today's Times asks whether the definition of Pooka is: a. Excellent b. A smoking apparatus c. A sprite or hobgoblin I'm trying not to imagine one saying, "I'm excellent! I'll tell you about my smoking apparatus!"
