I finally hit level 40. It doesn't seem real. I haven't done/changed much in the last decade, still wear the same clothes, still have the same hobbies, etc. Still waiting for life to start so I can do all of the things I wanted to do 'when I was a grown up'. So don't feel as though I've earned the right to be 40 yet. It's very surreal! Started in this forum when I was all but 16 back in 2003. I'll be 40 next year and it's been such a fun ride in the Knightmare community. From college projects, to starting a family, Knightmare will always be a special part of my life

It was great fun making The Olden Days podcast and there's a ton of really great chat in there covering all kinds of old movies and TV shows, which will all remain available to check out at any time. I'd never have volunteered to edit the Temporal Discussion podcast without having become so superbly adept at editing The Olden Days, so you can thank The Olden Days for the fact that Temporal Discussion didn't fizzle out completely at some point last year... or at least that it isn't still stuck on Series 5 Episode 4, or something like that!

While They Were Famous: Celebrity appearances on Brookside. From the Pope to Lily Savage, there was something to suit all tastes. There is now a video online with clips of all those celebrity appearances. In November 2003, days after Brookside had ended on Channel 4, I made a post on this forum in which I imagined a continuing version of Brookside Close where Brookside characters interacted with visiting characters from another series (namely Knightmare). Last month that's exactly what happened via a crossover within Hollyoaks (and Hollyoaks Later). If I tried to use exclamation marks, one wouldn't be enough, so I'll restrict myself to full stops. This one-off return, with original actors filmed at the original Brookside Close location, is comparable to Knightmare's one-off return in YouTube Geek Week 2013 with original actors filmed in the studio where Knightmare was made, including a bearded character who appeared from the first episode onwards.

Yes indeed! Still have all of mine from childhood, pretty much all of them from 1 to 60. Wonderful series.

I just came across a draft forum post I wrote in 2015 after purchasing the Fist Of Fun DVDs. I was waiting until I'd had a chance to view the DVD-ROM content in case there was anything else worth mentioning, but I never got round to it and then forgot all about it. Obviously the post is somewhat out of date now, but since I went to the trouble of writing it, I may as well belatedly share it! Many thanks to Mashibinbin for letting me know about the current sale at Go Faster Stripe! I picked up the Fist Of Fun 4-disc sets and they are definitely well worth it. To answer my own question: 'Interview with a Pieman' doesn't feature Bill Cashmore (it's Andy McKay who played the Piemaster), but Bill does appear in several unbroadcast sketches: Sick Supermodels, in the rushes for Series 1 Episode 3. Bill plays one of the guys dating the diseased models. The Bootleg Bootleg Beatles, a studio skit in the rushes for Series 2 Episode 2. Bill stars as the founder of the band, in the fake George Harrison role. If this hadn't been cut from the final edit, he would actually have been the first person to say "You want the moon on a stick"! Goldilocks and the Three Men, in the rushes for Series 2 Episode 4. He is indeed one of the Men. I think this cut sketch must be why he is credited in the fourth and sixth episodes despite not appearing in the broadcast versions! Natural Born Killers, a studio skit in the rushes for Series 2 Episode 4. Bill and Ronni Ancona appear as 'Veronica and William Ankmore', a couple claiming to have been influenced by the controversial film. This was filmed to appear in Episode 5, but had to be dropped due to the Dunblane massacre! Rich & Stew also praise him a lot in their commentary for Series 1 Episode 1, which featured 'The Tortoise and the Man'. Sadly there is no mention of Knightmare, as they have no idea what else he's been in! You really do get hours of fun with these DVDs - Rich & Stew's episode commentaries are very entertaining (and Kevin Eldon is still hilarious as Rod Hull!), the studio rushes are full of amusing banter and outtakes (plus a few other sketches that were axed or censored for TV), there are loads more extras, and every disc has an Easter Egg too. I wasn't sure about paying £50 for them, but at £15 each they are great value for money. While on the subject of Bill, various other TV appearances are now available to watch online, including 'The Essential Guide To Parties', a CITV Christmas programme he co-hosted with Andy Powrie in 1996 (I think this is the first time I've actually seen them on screen together). I've also just discovered a '90s audio series called The Magical Music Box which features both Bill Cashmore and Edmund Dehn in a number of episodes (including 'Hall of the Troll King' which they're both in) - Bill has fairly major villainous roles in 'The Highwayman's Mask' and 'The Monks' Treasure'. The latter story is strangely reminiscent of Knightmare, with a monk addressing a boy called Dickon and a scene where light through a stained glass window reveals the location of something hidden!

This is driving me insane. Does anyone remember a TV character who would often exclaim "Bless us and save us!", maybe around the '90s or early 2000s? Julia Brogan in Brookside said that, or something similar. Hmm... I don't clearly remember this character (I only started watching Brookside a few months before she died), but that could be it! Would make sense for it to be someone from a soap.

uncle william is feeling much better now. That was a worry. he fell and hit his head but he's ok. the doctors just checked him over. he's been out of hospital since monday. been running about after judy this week so have not had much chance to get on here.

Yes, you read that correctly - "A Romance Novel", Fidjit is writing such a book. You may very well be wondering why I would be posting this in a Knightmare Discussion Forum? Well, I'll explain... As some of you may well be aware, I not only do digital art as a sort of hobby but I also do a little writing on the side. I've most certainly improved my vocabulary skills since I was but sixteen years of age when I first joined up here, and now I am nearly thirty-four! Good lord! In any case, I decided back in the summer of last year that I was going to write a book, I wasn't quite sure what that book would be about but a book I would indeed write. It is a romance novel which I have entitled "Sweethearts", the prologue itself starts off in the year 1980 and the actual story begins in the year 1992, twelve years later. The tale involves two main characters, Lily Taylor; a vixen, and Sviatoslav Vulpula; a "vulpire" (a family of once-cursed vampire foxes who have since been freed and now live as a completely new and unique species. Whilst they are completely harmless, are in complete control of their sense and reasoning, no longer shun the light of day, nor consume blood they still retain their physical vampire attributes and some magical properties given their ties to the dark power) I've taken the liberty of including a link to my novels proposed book cover so I don't give away too much: https://twitter.com/TheRealZeroGee/status/1348370512498618370?s=20 But in any case, I plan to include some Knightmare references in somehow, discreetly of course If this does well and a sequel is on the cards, I plan to have a scene where Sviatoslav finds a little spell left by his late-father whilst searching through his artifacts which is essentially the ANVIL spell. In a scene where he is locked up by his paws in a dungeon-style cell a pair of goons come by to cause him all kinds of misery, but a smiling Sviatoslav tells them to look up and an anvil clonks them both over the head enabling him to escape. It is a crazy idea but I would like to incorporate some little elements into this book wherever I can

Just started a crime novel/story/book a few weeks ago and think it might be good enough to be published. Its about a lady who gets attacked and tells the police but they don't believe her then seven years later he strikes again and someone is kidnapped and another two people are murdered. They have to find him and rescue the victim before he strikes again and kills more. Still working out the ending and writing the first draft. If anyone would like to offer some helpful tips please do. Also do let me know if you want to read a bit. [Just started]

For me, the real series 2 is a big improvement over series 1. The Futuristic Zone no longer looks cheap and tacky, and they’ve made some visual enhancements to the other zones too. I’m liking the new games too. One was taken from the original show, and there were four or five other games which were heavily influenced by it. Good to see Jarhead works well in Medieval Zone too, but man was that last riddle ****ing tricky! It’s not ****ing surprising there was so much ****ing swearing!

Thanks for sharing Canadanne! There’s a few there where I know the programs, but not well enough to have worked out the answer. The ones I’m shocked I didn’t get are Neighbours, Wacaday, and Pigeon Street. They are three programs I watched a lot when I was little, but I still don’t recognise them as lyrics from the theme tunes!

Haddon Hall, a filming location for Knightmare Series 6 and 7 (and El Rescate del Talismán), featured in new BBC2 series 'The Sweet Makers' this evening. It's available on iPlayer and is repeated on Saturday at 5:50pm. The Banqueting Hall and Long Gallery are briefly shown at 03:36 and 33:23 respectively!

This week's episode of Tony Robinson: Coast To Coast (Friday at 8pm on Channel 5) will feature Rievaulx Abbey, where Sumayya was killed by the Dreadnort in Series 6. He also visits a sawmill in Helmsley, not far from the castle used as a KM filming location that year.
