In the early series, there seems to have been a definitive, specific, laid out path. An item was used in a particular location and if you didn't have the item (for whatever reason) when it was needed then you died. The problem is that this lead to the situation where you can do badly in the clue room and still get through the dungeon by being lucky with your selection of items. On the other hand, if you did well, picked up exactly the right items, but missed a clue (or didn't understand the advice given) you were certainly dead. So bad teams could progress and good teams could fail, and it wasn't necessarily clear why. Later series seem to have eased up on this and there always seems to have been an alternative approach available for taking the wrong items (at least in level 1).

Could someone please help? I'd really like to see the extended version. You can now watch the original upload of the extended Geek Week episode here. There's also a later upload here. Let us know what you think of it. Something I've only just noticed: the first thing to happen in the episode is a facing-away-from-the-camera sidestep (by Veruca). Surely deliberate? Thank you! Great to see the extra stuff! Also nice to hear the opening theme tune fade out naturally without the door-creaking-open sound effect at the end.

Hugo has been known to make a few cameo appearances at Knightmare Live performances - both he and Mark Knight featured at the Leicester Square Theatre performance in November last year.

I wonder if the Lords Of The Game pilot will forever remain a convention exclusive or if there might still be any future opportunity to see it. (And the pilot eps of Knightmare, for that matter. Would be cool if Tim could dig them out for the 40th anniversary next year!) I fear it’s unlikely. The pilot was filmed as “not for broadcast” so I imagine that legally it cannot be distributed. We did ask if we could include it on the DVD but although he gave it serious consideration, Tim said nay. I fear the pilots may have the same status

It would have so been funny to have seen outtakes if there were any of a team being rude and/or escorted off set! Alas however, no such incidents occured and no such clips exist!

You think? I thought it was the one in season 5 where Christopher turned into a goblin. I think Chris' quest was so farfetched it could only have occurred through leaving the team to their own devices. I see what you mean, though - if it was Chris then Tim probably would have wanted them to go out with a bang to compensate for their early exit. Granted we the viewer only see so much of what was recorded but that affair seemed to drag out for a while, and if the production team had a homesick 12 year old I think they'd want to get them home ASAP rather than film multiple rooms for the sake of continuity.

My favourites: "We're dead, Alan." The way he says it is priceless. Gideon screaming 'Oh My God!' at everything. Barry in general was brilliant, though there were two moments that really made me laugh: Barry trying to convince Sly Hands to drink the Freeze potion. "Does it taste of alcohol?" "Well, more or less." And also when he's with Rothberry near the beginning. "So will you swap that potion?" "Well, if I'm honest I'd rather swap the lamp." I also thought Matt from S6 was a laugh as well, especially his overdramatic flail when he fell off the causeway and his team posing at the end.

Hello everyone, I would like to make a few proposals for community meetups to commemorate Knightmares' 25th, so far there have been some good suggestions. Now I would like to see some dates booked in the diary! Mediaeval banquet at Coombe Abbey near Coventry. This could be an exciting alternative to the usual. I have picked here because of the central location. http://www.coombeabbey.com/mediaeval-banquets/ 2.Mediaeval banquet at Warwick Castle, again central location. http://www.warwick-castle.com/events/themed-dining/mediaeval-banquet.aspx 3.Group trip to Alton Towers. Blackpool proved to be very successful in 2010 seeing the largest number in attendance in recent years. Lastly, Thorpe park. I believe I am able to claim up to 50% off group tickets through a work scheme. I will need to check on how this would work but the savings could be rewarding especially booking up outside school holidays. Let me know what you think. Myatt

Snowcat - Done and thank you Drassll - Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction. It's a very helpful start. I'm trying to get the superbly over the top 80s style series one theme. Basically I'm a performer and am wanting to (in part) play the Knightmare theme on a MIDI converted stylophone for the end of my new show 'Age of the Geek' that's going to Brighton and Edinburgh Fringes. I'm still quite upset that whilst I'm old to enough to remember Knightmare, I was too young to go on it before it was cancelled This is my way of living the dream!

Love them all equally. If you put a gun to my head, perhaps the closing credits music of 6-8.

Personally, I'd hope for a more literal and visual interpretation of "Feed on you", maybe involving a giant tongue coming out of their moth and them consuming the dungeoneer... But it's a death I'd have liked to see. At least one of the blockers was given a chance... Igneous should have eaten Akash, by all rights. Although he'd have been more of a mid-morning snack than a whole meal. It would have been good to see what happened when someone got all three wall monster riddles wrong - as you say, Akash should have been eaten by Igneous. I wonder if they just didn't have the technology at this point to show us the result. It would presmmably have looked like Christopher's death in series 5 at the hands - or rather jaws - of the blocker.

Episode 1 of Series 6. This had it all: continuity, impersonation, internal politics, a foreboding cutaway, espionage within espionage (evoking T-Bag and her 'spying saucer') and a sinister outcome, even if it was easily remedied. I can't dwell on this scene, though, as I end up with the music of Rupert Holmes stuck in my head. Episode 2 of Series 8. Starting with the game of Monopoly and continuing with one hilarious line after another. Episode 5 of Series 8. The Bimboid. I'd like to imagine that they had fun filming this scene, and it does sound like Mark Knight is holding back laughter at one point. Episode 10 of Series 8. The Dungeon Master defenestrates what little dignity he has left by openly using a spyglass on the Opposition. His fitting reward is the shortest, sharpest spyglass scene ever, and for Lord Fear to have the last word of the series.

Ancient thread but who cares! My vote for best team goes to Julie from s7. The clincher over Barry was he had a few lucky escapes, not least hte corridor of blades, and the advisors did miss things like backtracking in the level 1 room and the dripping water room. Best losing teams for me were Leo in s3 and Nathan in s8. Both blew an otherwise perfect game with one mistake.

I certainly found it hard to believe that some of the later teams were as young as 15, they looked more like uni students!

Of the ones I've seen, I think these are all worth mentioning. Season 1 Team 1 - What was it that was draining the life force? We'll never know. Season 1 Team 4 - BOOM! Season 2 Team 5 - Mogdred's laugh, combined with the whole "playpen" idea makes this rather creepy. Season 2 Team 8 (I think) - Somewhat similar in the sense that the team were trapped. Season 2 Team 11 - The moral of this story: examine labels with care. Season 3 Team 9 - I really hadn't expected any team to die in Merlin's chamber. Season 3 Team 10 - Mainly for being entertaining. "Say hello to the goblin, Julie!" Season 3 Team 11 - A sudden surprise, and a barbeque soon follows... Season 4 Team 4 - What more can I say? Season 5 Team 2 - Skarkill makes a total fool out of this team: "That's a goblin 'orn that, you 'orrible li'l thing!" All brilliant.

Haha...er...yeah the Deuce video is me! Unfortunately YouTube doesn't seem to like my video and only uploaded half. Thanks for all the replies-I've found a great episode from series 2 from when one of the teams gets to level 3-even I got scared! But will definitely check the other suggestions. Can't wait to teach it! They will LOVE Knightmare. Bring on the next generation of dungeoneers...!

1st three series were my fave titles/music. Liked the incedental 'tension' cues in the later series though.

I appologize in advance if this isn't the place to talk about it. I'm thinking of making the Helmet of Justice and Eye shield for a convention I'm going, Amecon. Before I make it...any ideas on how to make it? ^,^;\ I know it's a few years since Mangamad made this post, but I'm just wondering if this was the eventual end product. Pretty good even if it isn't him, I have to say.
