In the early series, there seems to have been a definitive, specific, laid out path. An item was used in a particular location and if you didn't have the item (for whatever reason) when it was needed then you died. The problem is that this lead to the situation where you can do badly in the clue room and still get through the dungeon by being lucky with your selection of items. On the other hand, if you did well, picked up exactly the right items, but missed a clue (or didn't understand the advice given) you were certainly dead. So bad teams could progress and good teams could fail, and it wasn't necessarily clear why. Later series seem to have eased up on this and there always seems to have been an alternative approach available for taking the wrong items (at least in level 1).

Could someone please help? I'd really like to see the extended version. You can now watch the original upload of the extended Geek Week episode here. There's also a later upload here. Let us know what you think of it. Something I've only just noticed: the first thing to happen in the episode is a facing-away-from-the-camera sidestep (by Veruca). Surely deliberate? Thank you! Great to see the extra stuff! Also nice to hear the opening theme tune fade out naturally without the door-creaking-open sound effect at the end.

Hugo has been known to make a few cameo appearances at Knightmare Live performances - both he and Mark Knight featured at the Leicester Square Theatre performance in November last year.

I wonder if the Lords Of The Game pilot will forever remain a convention exclusive or if there might still be any future opportunity to see it. (And the pilot eps of Knightmare, for that matter. Would be cool if Tim could dig them out for the 40th anniversary next year!) I fear it’s unlikely. The pilot was filmed as “not for broadcast” so I imagine that legally it cannot be distributed. We did ask if we could include it on the DVD but although he gave it serious consideration, Tim said nay. I fear the pilots may have the same status

Teams choosing items in the clue room, especially some of the ridiculous things they say and do. 'Lets take 1 item instead of 2!' 'I think it says Poison!'

Nobody's saying that Illusion does equal Tim Child, that page is just putting knightmare.com above Tim's name in an attempt to make it look more 'official', so it seems.

The 'Knightmare' arcade game that you can run on MAME is an old Konami shoot-em-up in the 'Xenon 2' mould (Assuming memory serves well, the screen-shots don't load here...). Legend has it that many of Hideo Kojima's creative team (of 'Metal Gear Solid' fame) cut their teeth on it's production. You've no idea who much swearing that game caused when I was trying to track down KM .adfs for WinUAE!

Lord Fear, Hands and Lissard should be technically dead anyway - having a ten tonne Troll landing on them! Hopefully there'll be some great brand-new characters. Perhaps there could be a ghost of some sort - maybe a poltergeist.

There were some great individual levels in the 8 seasons of KM. The above levels i've listed are my favourites from each season. I'd probably say that my two favourite levels are L3 from S8 and S7 (level 2 in S8). I'd probably say that L3-S8 slightly pips L3-S7. Graphically it was fanatstic, geographically it was large (I'm sure it was the longest of all the level 3's)and it had a very eerie feel to it like level 3 did in seasons 1-3. They played creepy music whenever a team reached the golden galleon, which really reminded me of that brilliantly freaky music they played when the 1st ever team reached level 3 in S1. This obviously enhanced the eerieness of the level. I liked the Linghorm, Myerworld and Marble head enviroments aswell. Although it only had two obstacle rooms, they killed off teams 2 and 3. What is your favourite level? (By the way that smilie face at the top is supposed to say Season 8. I dont know why it came out like that.)

I doubt that a World Cup winner would turn down the trophy for a cash substitute). No some of them would prefer both. Did you realise how much David Beckham gets each time he is featured during an ad everytime England plays? How much do you think these players get evertime they do play and the further and further their team gets in the event, i.e. Euro 2004. I believe that if these players did get just the trophy and didn't get any cash, then they wouldn't bother. My opinions. Anyway if I was given cash then I probably wouldn't have anything to show for it and it would only make me happy temporarily until it had gone.

What about Cavernwights, weren't they dancers as well? Also who played the assassins? Assassins were good as even though they were human they were quite sinister/ I always hoped once would kill a dungeonere.

Whilst he's sleeping get a pot of gel and some firm-hold hairspray... Y'never know, Pickle's hair style may suit him. Or get some tipex and a red marker pen, if you dont think Pickle's hair style will suit him then see if Hordriss' look takes his fancy Oooh, and go with the stick idea too.

I got Sky in 1995 but couldn't have cable because the area I live in didn't have access to it, something technical. Anyway I was so annoyed that I couldn't watch KM and was really dissappointed that there was no series 9.

Probalby a variation on Series 3 where although you needed one riddle to pass they asked 3 riddles in level 1, 2 in level 2 and 1 in level 3. Therefore - you needed a 33% record in Level 1, 50% in level 2 and 100% in level 3 (and that was only basic competancy)

Just wanted to say thanks very much INDEED, for your effort, I have just looked at the gif animation and thought that was good, actually i probably wouldnt have noticed the animation sequence being out of phase if you hadnt of said. As for the .AVI file, Im sure that will be good, im using an ancient computer to type this that doesnt have the correct decompressor for Real Player and Windows Media player but ill be going to see a mate tommorow, where I have a much up to date computer around there, which also has the latest Windows Media player and Real Player so will be able to view it tommorow. Guess what too, doesnt make a difference watching the Medusa in the day for me, but if i watch it on this screen in the dark just before bed, it does scare me like it used to, thats both when I goto the bathroom at night with the lights off, and when in bed, ha ha ha. I even thought, what if it knocks on my door in a minute (well Id try and make friends with it and hope it put a smile on and joined me for a midnight feast), but somehow I reckon apart from being turned to stone, it would just fix itself to the back wall of my bedroom in the dark, give me that nasty stare, and make that horrible sound all night as in Knightmare. Anyway, most grateful once again for your efforts and wish I could access the challenge channel at the moment. Only got Freeview, grrrrr

So how close is Swansea to Cardiff then? (from someone who doesn't know Welsh Geography and also done really terribly at my Geography GCSE exam)
