The homesick quest

They were really young, weren't they? Pickle even said so at the beginning of their second episode.
But...age aside...PINK TROUSERS!

I would think if they had a quest that was stopped due to a team feeling homesick they would just go home and the quest wouldn't get shown on TV. Â Don't forget the series was filmed in August (during the summer hoildays) and not shown on TV until between September-December since this quest was near the end of the series it wouldn't have made it onto the TV until December. Â
Team 7 of Series 4 all looked nervous right from the first room of the place of choice. Â Jermey the dungoneer in the place of choice was guided to the shield but only just and throughout that first room two of the dungoneers you can hear them laughing nervously. Â Amanda and Antony were the ones who were the most nervous, but they did quite well at the first door room, but then died at the block and tackle room, the quest guide says they made it into level 3, but I am sure that when Simons "side step to the left" team, Â ;D died on the block and tackle died in the block and tackle that was in level 2, but in Giles quest it was in level 3. Â
Whatever though it wasn't a bad effort from the team considering how nervous they were at the start, and that they looked to be only 11 or 12 (most of the rest of the teams were 14.)

I think it's series 1 team 4 - they were doing extremely well and for no real reason took the wrong door and got blown up. All the cast were being extremely kind to the dungeoneer and he seemed quite shy.
Thinking about it, though, perhaps it's best we don't know which team it is (it's probably the last one we're expecting, anyway). Those involved might not want us to know.

I remember one team in series 4 being sent home because it was xmas. Merlin turned up and through them out. And seriously the eighties clothes are really being shown now!

I remember that too, I thought it was a bit harsh! Â And yes, the clothes are starting to get very eighties - I think one girl was wearing a white shirt with huge red stars on it today...
Â
And the lack of hair straighteners is also apparent - but that's actually quite refreshing

It's no different from any of the other 7 series' where every dungeoneer's quest had to be cut short because of the end of the series (Christmas referred to or not!).
This is excepting series 7, of course, where Barry's team ended their quest right at the end of the series!
Excellent stuff.

Going back to the reasons Tim Child would curtail teams, in the case of homesickness he refused to name the team and said that you couldn't recognise them on screen. If I remember rightly in Season 1 or 2 a team only took one item from the clue room and Treguard didn't inform them they could take two (which he did do for another team at some point, I'm sure). Perhaps Tim deliberately told them to take one so that they would enter losing status and be killed off very soon after?

You think? I thought it was the one in season 5 where Christopher turned into a goblin.

I think Chris' quest was so farfetched it could only have occurred through leaving the team to their own devices. I see what you mean, though - if it was Chris then Tim probably would have wanted them to go out with a bang to compensate for their early exit. Granted we the viewer only see so much of what was recorded but that affair seemed to drag out for a while, and if the production team had a homesick 12 year old I think they'd want to get them home ASAP rather than film multiple rooms for the sake of continuity.
