Gwen's thingummy was just a mediaeval headband. Variation of Locksley's famous hood, and it was fairly common to the era. Archers were always meticulous about keeping their hair out of their eyes to avoid it interfering with their aim at the moment they opened fire. And I thought it looked quite neat on Gwen.

Yeah, Romahna's mask was terrible.

I saw some posts a while ago by a member called Scott_Series_3, which said that the Helm was made of foam, and contained a construction site hard hat so that it fitted properly.

Yep. He was indeed one of the 69 dungeoneers to roam around the plains of Knightmare, so needless to say he'd know.
