Re:Channel 5
-
To be honest, I'm supposing some more work needs to go on before anyone starts seriously thinking about which channel if would show on.
-
I have the feeling FIVE would be rather unwilling to comit to KM, with the costs etc They prefer to settle on cheap soaps and a selection of b-movies.
Although they did "buy" robot wars from bbc2. I think they'd be stupid to pass the chance of showing a new series of KM. As everyone on these forums would think. Wibble, wibble. Goodbye.
-
i hope it dosn't come onto channel 5, not just because it's got a rather bad name but also because not everyone has got channel 5. It would look more class on channel 4
-
Channel five has actually come on in leaps and bounds over the past couple fo years. No longer does it show programmes like 'Naked Jungle' (eek!), but instead shows ones like CSI, Law & Order, Michael Jackson's face (alright, not ALL of top-quality thinking, but still entertaining). Plus, it did show Fort Boyard.
Added to that the fact Channel 4 is in a rut (except for Ramsay's Kitchen nightmare's!), and five would be alright for showing Knightmare.
-
That would be very unfair as loads of people don'y even have 5. (i do)
-
Good thing digital TV is making headway, though. the more the public get those Freeview boxes (or pay Rupert Murdoch an arm and a leg), the better.
-
I used to watch robot wars on bbc 2 but don't watch it anymore because it's on 5, donno why. So what makes you think people would watch knightmare on a different channel?
-
Well why not?
For one thing, Robot Wars has been on regularly for over five years now, so it's no big deal for people to watch it. KM on the other hand hasn't been on terrestrial for ten years, so it'll make a nice change for people to be able to watch it again. They won't be picky about it being on a different channel.

the reason i don't watch robot wars anymore is because there's so many adverts. Plus when Robot Wars went over to 5 the rating were nothing like they used to be.

does anyone remember when the wrestling was on ch5? it used to be quite good for a laugh on a saturday night, but then they put in stupid batman style "bangs" and "pows".
im not sure if it would be a good idea to let ch5 have knightmare. they would probably do something stupid to it. like cover over the life force with a picture of a fluffy rabbit or just ham it up with something really cheesy.
-
Look, if the fluffy rabbit covered up a pie life force, I wouldn't complain.
-
I thought wrestling was on channel 4? never watched it so don't really know.

Madmogsue, your talking bout WCW with the KApows when someone was clocked with a steel chair- but WCW editing actually did that themselves, unfortunately 5 cannot be blamed for that!
CD your talking bout WWF/E on 4, but the skinflints decided to stop showing it and so a majori8ty was picked up by sky, with the PPVs left to the highest bidder!
-
I think C4 stopped it because it cost to lot. I only watched it once which was a royal rumble i think.

Thinks he has walked to an alternate dimension
Be fun to see Lord F and Treguard have a good ol' battle, however....Anyway, no harm in bringing things back on topic is there?
In light of recent developments from certain TV companies, I imagine the future of KM lies in a differnt route to that of C5....
-
hey... so long as it pops up somewhere we can get at, I don't care who shows it...
If it's on Terrestrial, I tape it at home..... If it's on SKY, I simply pester the Mog until she gives in and tapes it for the sake of getting peace...
So long as we can get at it..... We'll get it...

How about a 6pm slot on BBC 2?
