I've got the board game.  I got it one Christmas - I remember really wanting the game and I can only presume that it was advertised at the end of the show like the Club was and the books or else I probably wouldn't have been aware of its existence. I also have all the books except for two of them - the second one "Labyrinths of fear" and the final one with Lord Fear on the front. They're still really good fun to read - the games were fun to play but became easier with every book.

It was thoughtful of you to bring this to our attention. Thank you.  🙂 Is there anyone reading this who has experience of or opinions on the board game?

The rules aren't very clear, when I played it with two friends we wound up pissing about in Level 1 for over an hour, and kept getting sent to prison whenever we got to Level 2. The best thing about it has to be Merlin's Book of Riddles, since it's got nearly all the riddles from Series 1-3. (I think it goes up to 4, but I'm not sure)

Really is cool game - still have it in mint condition! Riddles are still tough now!!

Not at all bad for £1.50. It is not horribly rare, yet hey, who can argue with that price? I imagine most of us paid a bit more for it when it came out.

Lol, I got that game for Christmas one year. It's a good game, but I've changed the rules for getting thrown in the dungeon cell, that was too unfair.

My riddle book has been stuck with glue 😠 😕

I'm not very keen on the last moments of the game.

I still think they should try another... maybe something like 'Dark world' and such.

I was pretty lucky with the board game, I got it in a sale in a local RPG shop for £1 because they were moving to a new location and selling off the second hand boardgames. And it was totally complete, without so much as a Helm Token missing.

Got a complete Heroquest from the same place as well, but it cost £20. Still, nice to see somewhere that checks the boardgames before selling them.

Yep, I've got one, fully intact. I also invented a new set of rules for it with Modeski.

Yup, me too! In excellent condition. I still remember when it was delivered from Broadsword - in a huge jiffy bag!

Got it for christmas '94, fantastic game that made up for those years without knightmare.

Never used to get any riddles right unfortunately, or at least I would be asked the easiest ones for fairness (I was only 10!)

Haven't played it for a while actually, largely due to the fact quite a few things are missing, including the riddle book which I haven't found since we moved.

I used to get annoyed with being thrown into the prison chamber with those rats (either because I lost a battle or picked up an unlucky card)

When I was ten I tried to make a Knightmare board-game, a three tier one (one for each level). I used the middle of a kitchen roll to make a well from level 1 - 2. Obviously it didn't work, but still, the idea was there!
