Time Gate

I'm interested to hear that KM actors probably won't feature in TG. I thought at one stage Tim Child was said to be keen to get Hugo Myatt and Mark Knight involved (but the latter had other commitments or something?). I can't even remember my source for that, but what you say was probably always going to be the result. I just hope what Hugo says about making it purposely different from Knightmare doesn't extend to making things different just for the sake of it. Tim Child has admitted himself that some of his other projects haven't gone that well because of trying to make them too different from KM.
I guess for all actors/programme makers it's difficult to escape the shackles of that which made you successful.

What I have seen of Time Gate it is very Knightmare, but then maybe that is what comes of being a Tim Child production.
The defining moment in the trailer which made me see it as being a new KM was a tree stump of clue objects, one of which was a bar of gold, call me silly but...
Maybe that is what series 9 would have looked like, as Tim said, going the whole hog and going full VR.

Oh, that sound very promising, thanks. I guess TC himself can't make too many overt comparisons to Knightmare, but the "Season 9" comment that we all hang on to is encouraging. I suppose if and when it gets an airing the critics will make enough comparisons with KM for everyone. I just hope people don't expect it to be a KM copy and give it a fair chance in its own right.

Definately, it would be a shame for peeps to do that. I know that we are all desperate to see KM return, but the thing is Time Gate isnt KM and although it may be hard not to think of it as an entirely different programme in its own right, I guess we're gonna have to watch it with an open mind.
At the end of the day, although we havent got a new series of KM yet, Time Gate should be a good substitute until then. When you think about it, it is made by Tim Child so it should be good!

Yeh, I think everyone has confidence that if he's working on it, and given sufficient time to do it (unlike some of the projects he had to do at the same time as KM) it'll be just fabulous.

I'm interested - very interested. Even if it isn't Knightmare, it's certainly very similar, and I'd welcome it onto my television screen as a substitute for the bearded one and his Wood Elf.
Just out of interest, does anyone have any pictures or trailers of Timegate? I can't seem to find any.

Message above modified as I think it would be better to link to large pictures as opposed to loading it into the forum as it slows it down (especially for those on slow dial-up connections).

This will be clarified in a forum guidelines document once the test period is over.
Thanks.

"Tim Child was said to be keen to get Hugo Myatt and Mark Knight involved (but the latter had other commitments or something?). "
Mark Knight lives in the USA, and he has not been contacted about playing a part in Time Gate as far as I know (or can remember). Even if he was, he wouldnt be able to be in it, sadly.

Yes! Wherever I read about it, MK was said to be working in New York at the time. Does that fit? Still, it's possible my source is completely unreliable since I can't remember it lol.

A full preview clip of TimeGate is now available for download at http://www.televirtual.fsbusiness.co.uk/movies/
You need to right-click on timegate.wmv and 'Save Target As' to save to your hard disk, otherwise it will stream automatially. It is 8.8MB so will take a while to download if you have a slow dial-up connection.

Just seen the trailer. Well, in one way it's very different - instead of Treguard, we have a mad professor-type person! Hehehe...Also, the red-haired girl in the trailer was pretty cute (and I think that deserves a slap on the face for stereotypical maleness... )
And did the voice-over going on during the trailer remind anyone else of the voice in "Dungeon Keeper"?
