Dunstans winning team
-
Having watched the infamous quest of Dunstan in S8 recently i have to say that (although his team did by-pass) level 2 I am still 80% sure they would have won. The criticism levelled at them is a bit harsh. To me they
- were well organised
2)They choose well in the clue room
3)they possessed good guiding skills and
4)they were reasonably smart as they answered ALL 3 riddles correctly given to them (by snapper jack) in their quest.
They seemed like a good team and i think they woiuld have won anyway. Look at it this way- If you can complete level 3 successfully bthen surely you should be abler to complete level 2.

I have always maintained that I believe Dunstan's win was fair. It wasn't in the manner we'd all have preferred, but it was fair.
HOWEVER.
Whether or not the team actually merited their win is another matter. I think they were a decent team, but not really championship material. I don't think they were that well organised, and they were too prone to bickering and talking over each other. They also showed a distinctly bad habit of not paying attention when Treguard or Majida were offering them advice.
Their win was entirely fair, but they were still lucky.

This must be the most debated winning team in KM history.
I believe that missing out a level was unnecessary, yet I understand why it happened.
As for team quality, I do believe they are perhaps the least skilled of any of the winning teams, and certainly not the best team in Season 8. I'd have liked to have seen the final team given more of a chance myself, they had some rather superb guiding skills!
Was Dunstan's winning quest fair though? Hmm, no I don't think so, all in all, I do believe they were given an easier time with missing L2 out completely, and that takes away many occasions where they could have died (many S8 teams died on L2 after all).

Probably would have won, and they did manage to survive the corridor of blades, shame about their qiuck exit out of level 3 thought the story did not develop at all!!!

in Dunstans winning quest something strange happened. The team made a deal with Maldame. Maldame gave them her calling name so that they could call her when they met Lord fear. This happened with quite a few other teams.
BUT when they encountered LF they didn't need her help because they used the Paladin bottle to defeat LF. that was a bit weird.
Did the production team mess up here? or
were they trying to make sure the team would win by using Maldame as a back-up incase the team didn't take the paladin bottle in the clue room- thus ensuring success.
CAN SOMEONE SUGGEST/EXPLAIN WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED HERE.

I think the bypassing levels thread contains more information as I remember mysteria explaining what happened.
