Mine was maybe the treasure chest, dunno what series. I feel that the image in the pool gave the guides a very strange angle to view.

The teams seemed to struggle with the screen in series 4-7, as they were sat quite far away from it. If you look closely, you can see a lot of the kids lurching forwards on their stools.

The treasure chest was my personal favourite, as the pool was a big fake.

I quite enjoyed the pool in S8 to be honest, it looked very good on the wide angle, but the S1-3 chest has it for me.

The screen in the chest was the best one for me as it gave the eerie feeling of peering at something secret. A screen on the wall was nothing special by comparison - you get that in practically any fairy tale or space opera. It's a cliche.

I think the fact that Pickle says 'mirror mirror on the wall' in episode 1 is what makes the Magic Mirror a let less appealing for me.

Exactly what I mean, a cliche.

Yeah - mirrors are overused! The chest was a more interesting idea for a screen, and it had the advantage of being much closer to where the team were sitting - probably essential considering the amount of precision-guiding they had to do in series 1-3. Remember that rather evil pathway/bridge that James (series 3) fell off? The later series were more about talking to random dungeon characters, so you wouldn't have to watch their every footstep so closely.

I'm an outcast... Yep I liked the Magic Mirror most of all. To me it gave the chamber more of a command centre like feel to it with everyone in the room a part of the action. The chest I think is clastrophobic and the pool ruined the look of the room. The magic mirror style chamber was more homely too, with the big table to rest upon or drink a cup of hot coco. Okay so maybe it was a little far away & too small for people to see, but what with the massive screens we have in todays world they could've made it a magic viewing wall!

Maybe for Knightmare VR they could command from the bridge of the Enterprise, that had one hell of a magic mirror 🙂

The big screen was the best I think.

I imagine that this was the clearest for the advisors to see, certainally viewers could see it well when they showed a camera angle from the back.

I liked the chest best. I agree with Willowherb, I think it gave the advisers the best view of their Dungeoneer. (hell, I know I used to sit as close to the TV as possible to watch what was going on)

Personally I wasn't a big fan of the original Treasure Chest monitor but that is only for one small reason:- Throughout the entire time it was used, the glass had a reflection of the antechambers fire place in the top-right corner. Used to bug the hell outta me (still does) because it's effectively a production mistake which could have been fixed by simply turning the chest slightly further to one side.

I agree with Forrester about the 'control-room' feel of the magic mirror but it was definately too far away (anyone who has tried to play a PS2 or Game-cube from the far side of the room will understand what I mean...).

Drifting slightly but hopefully still on-topic:- I wonder how the French 'Chevalier' teams got on from their Balcony?...

Hmm, I prefered the magic mirror mainly because it just looked like it belonged in the antechamber. True there was times where it was clearly too far away for the advisors to see clearly but then this could of been solved simply by moving the wall closer to the advisors seats before a new series began!

The interior of Treguard's chamber did change more than once throughout Knightmare's run so no one would of noticed if a wall was suddenly a lot closer to everyone than it used to be!

Perhaps in Knightmare VR Treguard could nick Lord Fear's Techno Magic screen.

That'll be big enough, that's what I say.

I have to say that I never noticed the reflection in the treasure chest viewing-screen, but yes, they should have changed its angle. This slip isn't any worse than the one with the mirror where the team's seats should have been brought closer, though, so in this sense the two screens are equal. What do people think of the pool they used in the antechamber later on?

Oh yes; happy Midsummer's Night, everyone.

Practically speaking the treasure chest was the best though the pool was in my opinion more impressive I just think its a shame it was a fake.
