Ok guys...likl dilemma. 'Kully' was around 13 pages long. This current fanfic has reached 4 pages in half an hour and the situation has only just been introduced...is that bad? It's sounding to me a bit Lord of the Ringsy too right now. Is that also bad? I keep thinking I'll get ragged at for using LOTR creatures...but I'm having fun writing it :S

Four pages can bring a lot of atmosphere etc, but I suggest you cut it down a little so the action can be brought forward a bit, otherwise you'll end up writing about 500 pages
There isnt too much wrong with it sounding like LOTR, as it was...well, good!
All I can suggest is try and concentrate on the most important bits of the build up to the story, and try and get to the action quicker. But there again, I don't know what on earth you have written do I? So I'll let you decide, and I know full well you have good writing capabilities anyway.

Just my humble opinion, but I'd say you shouldn't worry about the length of a story while you're writing it. Let it come naturally, being as long as it wants to be. Then, once it's done, leave it for a day, then come back to read through it. That way, it's easy to see if it's too quick, too long, or just right. Hope that helps!

Damn, there are just not enough hours in the day...! I can't read it now as I have to rush off to catch the most luxurious of all coaches, the National Express; I wanted to print it off and take it on the coach with me, but my catridge has died on me, goddamnit! So now I am resigned to continuing another crappy novel during the journey and waiting to read your Fic when I get to Manchester. Is there no justice in this world??

Yup, well I read the new one when Illusion put it on the site. It confused me, slightly, yet I liked the plot and the way you keep things moving. Emii, you're a good writer. You have a fast-paced style when it comes to these things. Honest.
I'd better go write a fic now....

I've already written Knightmare fanfics and got them to put up a Knightmare fic section at fanfiction.net (though they shot down my request for a Watermelon section. ). So there! Fight the power!
