Own a winners trophy!
-
Sorry if you guys think this is spamming or something, thats not my intention. Oli here, S8 winner, just to let you know I'm auctioning off my knightmare winners trophy! Figured there maybe some serious nuts out there with the cash to spare and I'm in a rather tight financial spot at the moment so don't all mock the starting price, if nothing else I'm just interested to see how much it could sell for. Anyway thought you guys might be interested to know, so there you go

Seems like a bargain - the free postage that is...
OK, maybe just a bit steep - we had a FrightKnight prototype a few moths ago that sold for £300 I think.
As a matter of interest - what does the small plaque say?
-
Yeh I know, like I said I'm not really expecting it to sell, it means too much to me really but thats basically the point where I believe common sense will overtake nostalga and pay off the student loan/debts etc.. The plaque says: Oliver Hilton, Knightmare, Champion, 1994

Plugs KM Chat
Saturday & Sunday, official start 8pm (though many there outside those hours)

£13 postage cost - what a rip off!
At least the price is a bit more realistic now...

Keep The Trophy, No Matter how bad your debts are that trophy symbolises one of the greatest acheivements you could possibly acheive! Winning Knightmare is no easy feat. And it probably makes for a great ornament. Lady puller no doubt?
My Advice, stop spending money on non-essentials. Just food etc. Get the PSP when you can afford it. But hey, thats just me.

I think we discussed before that a Kignhtmare trophy is timeless were as a games console given as a prize would get dated.
I think the same applies here...
-
The fact we've all offered you advice to keep the trophy at least proves one thing . . .
None of us have any money!
-
"None of us have any money!"
Or we dont have any debts.....
-
if a prototype sold for £300 just imagine how the real deal could make
i wouldnt bother getting a psp, handhelds are useless, i got a gameboy advanced on day 1 and i played on it once, handhelds just dont intrest me any more, id rather get one of those apple i pod things that hold thousands of songs,
KEEP THE TROPHY!!
series 4 trophy kicks ass but 1 per team, the one your selling was given to each person per team (1 each), series4 trophy was thicker and looked alot better, mind u beats going home in 1989 with a knightmare coin
-
You know something, I wouldn't sell it either. Tempting though it might be.
BTW, regarding handhelds, I got a DS, and with swapping a few old PC games, I cut the price down a hell of a lot. Just find some you don't play anymore. The PSP sounds like it's going to be a rather poor portable gaming platform due to poor battery life in comparison to the GBASP and DS.
Off topic slightly, I know, but I'm trying to find you an alternative solution to selling your trophy!
-
Hi. I must admit I would personally say not to sell the trophy - another winner asked about seling their trophy and somebody said something lie "it's something that has to be earned" - the trophy is the symbol of winning - I don't suggest selling it.
-
They're all right, you know. Knightmare winner's trophies are one of the few things a man should tresure forever. And to sell it for a PSP would be, if you'll excuse my frankness, incredibly stupid.
-
Man, its one of those strange things...
Most of us dream we had one, your offering it to us and were turning it away! I think that shows real dedication to the dungeon
Inspirational music starts playing, Knightmare flag fluttering in background

I'd say it's hiltono's choice whether he sells it or not. If I'd have won it (I was too young to even apply sniff) I know I'd probably sell it.
Why?
Because if it was just hanging around my bedroom, there's a distinct possibility I would stab myself with it, and end up breaking it. I'm clumsy.
But really - it's his choice. He has the memories of having it, the proof of winning - and as we ALL should know by now - it's not the things you own that prove you won Knightmare - winning Knightmare is a thing to be proud of in itself. Just knowing he won is more than enough of a prize! And if selling it can gain him some peace of mind now, then good luck to him.
