      What did you all like about Knightmare? I liked the Smerkenof Scenes with Cliff Norgate, it was really good how that was done. How was the scenes done? Was the dungener doing??

        I'm pretty sure that Clifford also does the voice of Smirkenorff so how they had the two characters talking to each other is a little puzzling. Perhaps they used overdubbing or taped voice?

              Clifford also plays Hordriss the Confuser.

              As for ole Smirkie I think it may be a cleverly placed blue chair / block seat at the exact same place as the chair appears on the backdrop. The blue needed to project the back of the chair when someone sits behind it. When the dungeoneer is riding on him you can see the chair shake but the person stays still.

              It's actually quite interesting thinking about how the blue sets must be set out for each room design. But then again that might just be me.

                Yes I know, but you were saying something about Smirkenorff appearing in the same scene with another of CN's characters. To the best of my memory, Hordriss and Smirkenorff never appeared in the same scene.

                  I think Mykell just read this and thought it referred to a scene involving Smirky and Mr. Norgate. Smallest of mistakes, anybody could've made it.

                    Ah the penny drops! Kind of a relief in fact, I was beginning to think there was an episode I've kept missing over the last fourteen years...

                        Whoops! My mistake.

                        And yeah, todays episodes on Challenge were weird! The first one had the group of older guys and had just gotten past Dreadnort. They had just entered the Dwarf tunnels and spotted someone walking into a passage in front of them before the game froze. The next episode featured a brand new dungeoneer at the start! Hunh!?

                        I find out today though that Clifford also provided the voice of Dreadnort!

                          To sum up, the full list of the characters Clifford played is...

                          Hordriss the Confuser (s3-8), Owen the dragon (s3), Oakley the Tree Troll (s4-5), Smirkenorff the (other) dragon (s6-8 - not s5 as Smirky didn't talk back then), and the Dreadnort (s6).

                            Clifford Norgates just got one of them voices aint he?

                            He's been in Knightmare right from the start aint he?

                            Where Hordriss was "not on the light side, nor the dark side. However, he is a distinct shade of dark grey and should be taken very seriously!"

                            It took me a while to figure that Rayner Bourton played both Scaramonger and skarkill- the characters are so diferent- but now I can hear similarities!

                              Not right from the start, but as early as series 3.

                                ah right- sorry!

                                I swear it was earlier than that??

                                never mind. I can remember him in series 3 and that nice sounding ambient music that came on his calling- like it!

                                  Unlike with Lawrence Werber's two characters. If I hadn't been told I would never have figured out that he was Casper the Key as well as Cedric...

                                    Cedric= loud and bold

                                    Casper= whiny little northern voice.

                                    Very clever. Some people can do other voices quite well!

                                          norway? too cold for me up there!!!

                                          I always find it the other way round. I'd have to think twice about ever going to Spain, Italy, Greece, the Caribbean, India etc... you know, popular holiday destinations. Generally, my entire body shuts down as soon at the temperature rises above 25°C. On the other hand, the average temperature for Oslo in April is a far more acceptable 6.5°C. Marvellous.

                                          Next stop: Iceland.

                                          Olaf was cool. I liked the worms bit too.

                                          "Loot, pillage, or vurms?"

                                          I'm just wondering if I'll run into anyone this mad, given that I'm not staying in Oslo for the whole trip - I'll be out there up the mountains, down the fjords, and back to the pub for a round of stokfisk and very expensive beer. Possibly this will involve a few stops in tiny villages where everyone carries a bludgeon, and if any of them look a bit... backward, I'll try and fleece them for a pint or two with the philosopher's stone trick.

                                          "I think they be making Danish bacon of Olaf!"

                                          Time to run...
