So that's any spell (cast in the normal, "Spellcasting" way) that was cast by a character during the course of one or more episodes of Knightmare. An assurance: the use of the phrase "on-screen" does not mean that we definitely have to have seen the letters spelled out - it just means that any spell a character has obviously cast off-screen (and there are a couple of those) does not count.

Yet another tie - unfortunately these questions don't really have enough score variety. RETURN was cast by Treguard to retrieve Karen at the end of Series 2, while TOAD was cast by Mogdred to turn McGrew into a toad during Ross's quest in Series 3. Let's see the full list...

The off-screen spells cast by characters that I was thinking of (which don't count, of course) were MOUSE (Sidriss), SAMURAI (Lord Fear) and SWORD (Mogdred) all of which were dispelled on-screen, so we know they must have been cast with the "Spellcasting" ritual off-screen.
The Head-to-Head score is still 1-0 to Rosey, and there are now only two questions left in my supply of questions. Therefore, if Rosey wins the next question, she will be the Ultimate Knightmare Pointless Chamopion of 2011. We gave 6 people 100 seconds to name...
REAL ANIMALS PUT ON FILM AND THEN SUPERIMPOSED INTO THE QUEST
So that's any real-life animal (e.g. rabbit, parrot, butterfly, marmoset) that the Knightmare production team put on film and then superimposed into the quest. NB: This does not include drawings/animations of real animals. Please also note that "Wolf" will not be accepted, as I don’t think it was a real wolf and I doubt that there’s anyone who’d disagree with me on that one!

CHARACTERS WHO CAN REGULARLY BE SEEN CARRYING/USING A WEAPON
So that's any character who can regularly be seen (twice or more) using and/or holding a weapon. Here are all the parameters I have been able to think of:

If it’s a staff, it must be used as a weapon rather than a walking stick.

Unused/never drawn weapons do not count.

Parts of the character’s own body (e.g. teeth) or fire generated by their own body do not count.

Magic wands do not count as weapons.

Haunted weaponry does not count.

Yikes, that's a tricky question to end on. There are so many to choose from....
I'm not even 100% sure if this counts as a character, but if I'm going to lose, I may as well lose spectacularly. The Automatum!

Just for the record, the Automatum's weapon is a flail and Captain Nemanor's is a sword.And so the competition goes on - this question will (eventually!) decide the winner, and there are loads of answers left to choose from!

Hands used his "magic" rope as a weapon, and he also had a cudgel. Ridolfo carried a sword which he whipped out on two occasions, and he's just won Annie the title of Ultimate Knightmare Pointless Champion 2011!

BROTHER MACE (mace)
Not forgetting the weapon he actually used (the silencer) and the one he nearly used (the Staff of St. Smasher). Of the few characters who named their weaponry, he was arguably the most imaginative. It makes up for the unimaginative fact that he was called Mace and carried a mace.

I know that sound. Either a flamenco routine is about to commence, or something even more sinister is afoot.
Either way, I'm staying hidden for now. I've sought refuge in a peculiar old room I stumbled upon, filled with cardboard cut-outs of forum members past and present. A few of them have Knightmare Pointless rosettes: that's sweet. The nose isn't quite right on my one. The one of Aldude seems to have a few holes in it. A case of poor workmanship, or have you passed by this room before?
