OK, I saw it last night and it was quite good (always a treat to have a story featuring the Master!)

    Who did John Woodnutt play?

The Keeper of Traken is a great story. Last time I watched it I liked it a lot, although I didn't look out for JW. I read a review somewhere that said he was very believable in at least that story, however. No spellcasting painfully slowly to hog screen time, or anything like that.

Jon Woodnutt has appeared in 4  Dr Who stories:

Spearhead from Space as 'Hibbert' in 1970

Frontier in Space as Draconian leader 1973

Terror of the Zygons as Broton and Duke, 1975

Keeper of Traken as Serron (sp?) in 1981

            Hope that helped.

Just to add to the Dr Who/Knightmare topic, it may be of interest to people that Jon Woodnutt is not the only KM star to have something to do with the renogade Time Lord.

Clifford Norgate lends his voice to:

The Horns of Nimon (1979) as the voice of the Nimon

The Leisure Hive (1980) as the Generators Voice

Also, Reynar Burton (Skarkill and Julius Sacramonger), as well as co-creating the Rocky Horror Picture Show, was wed to Katy Manning, who was Third Doctor Jon Pertwees helper from 71-73.

              So there 🙂

Must go with the name Skarkill because I always had a crush on Jo Gant (Katty Manning).

There is at least one other crossover couple: Erin Geraghty, a.k.a. Mistress Goody in Series 4, is married to Paul Lavers, who played Farrah in Fourth Doctor adventure The Androids Of Tara (1978). To further the coincidence, the serial featured location filming at Leeds Castle - as did Knightmare Series 4.

Pity that new Drama channel isn't on Freesat
