Knightmare Convention
-
The numbers are good, but they're not great.
About half of the people who have 'liked' have commented. If we assume that 50% of the people who like it will attend, then we're only at about 250 people.
Of course, Facebook's bizarre approach of only really showing a post for about 24 hours isn't helping.

Does January give you much time to organize and promote a really successful event? plus it's not the most pleasant time of the year. And is it too short notice to book guests?
Take Nor-con in Norwich for example, so much hard work and time goes into that one weekend, they work on it all year pretty much.

It's January or never.
-
Not yet.

Done (Made a comment under My name Martin Williams on facebook (one with sparkster avatar) I have to go to this .
-
Juat made a quick note under the geekweek episode regarding this convention and to look at the facebook page and like for this so fingers crossed.

January is only 5 months away. To book a location, then guests and facilities, plus promotion.. it's costly and time consuming. I think you've left it too late personally.
If you've never done an event like this before id suggest getting into contract with people who have first for good advice and help.
Gook luck, you've got our support.

<shrug>
As I say, it's January or never. Might as well try.
-
Any particular reason why it's January or never?
Go for it then, if you can get enough interest.
Only thing that would stop me from going is work.
Same here! Whatever happens though I hope this can happen.
Ditto, it would be mad not to capitalise on the renewed interest in Knightmare in order to push for this to come back to our screens

Hey all,
Long time lurker here (although I only registered recently) and first time poster. Just wanted to say that I'd be extremely interested in this and if theres anything I can do to help at all I'd be up for that. I'm not quite sure about why it has to be January but theres bound to be good reason for it. The stars appear to have aligned for then it would seem.
Perhaps if someone were able to possibly prod Google and ask them for an annotation on the Geek Week video linking to a post about it on the site in order to promote it that'd help?
I think it's imperative something like this happens, especially given the recent timing of things. It may be beneficial in helping to secure funding for a new series of Knightmare by showing the interest in the program.

Wasn't it the Norwich Sci-fi convention where Dr Who and Star Wars fans 'clashed' earlier this year?
Not sure if there's a fandom KM fans would clash with?
Would it be possible to do a Kickstarter so people are effectively buying tickets in advance? Though I suppose we'd need an agenda in place before that.
Chickens and eggs...

Kickstarter is a possibility.
We're trying to work out costs at the moment.
