It's a news story that often comes up.

If it's true,, it's good timing don't you think?

I'm so excited ! The Radio Times seems to think that the releases are Patrick Troughton stories. Whilst I love Troughton's Doctor, I can't help but keep hoping that the rumours of the discovery of Marco Polo are true.

The Daily Mirror reports that "dozens" of episodes have been found! Somehow I am sceptical about this !

The rumour has been going around since earlier on this year; around June, as far as I can remember.

Hypothesis is, they've been keeping it secret until nearer the 50th, but who knows how true it is (or even if it's true at all :/)

Apparently the BBC have now confirmed that "a number of early episodes" have been found

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but Ian Levine (major Whovian and rescuer of a large number of episodes himself) is claiming that nine episodes have been found. The popular rumour is that the episodes are from The Enemy of the World (the full story!) and all the episodes bar one of The Web of Fear.

The press conference has been delayed until later in the week. Can't wait to see what is announced !

It's certainly been a roller coaster ride in Who-fandom over the last 24 hours!

I've been following it all on multiple forums, plus the Levine rants on Twitter/FB; it's all been quite fascinating!

Can't wait to find out exactly what's been returned

Isn't it wonderful news! I'm hanging on for the DVD - can't wait !

Web of Fear looks promising too - and from the clips I've seen the restoration team have done a superb job.

                  It is indeed wonderful

The quality is fantastic; although I've only nth generation Loose Cannon recons to compare them to!

Have a look at this article on Dork Adore about The Web of Fear.

It has been a very exciting time indeed. The two returned stories are excellent, and I never thought we'd see them.

Folk say there is more to come. But let's be happy with this haul before we jump that gun

Agreed Kieran (although I can't help but hope for Marco Polo!)

I would just like to Echo Canadanne's sentiments The Enemy Of The World is indeed Flippin awesome...or to put it another way LOVELY.

It is a truly great story and a wonderful addition to the archives of 2nd Doctor Who stories available for us to finally be able to watch. Pat Troughton as usual gives a sterling performance as the 2nd Doctor and as for his turn as the Villain of the story well I'll just say

it is a performance Most Magnifico (Anyone who visits the Knightmare Role Play Forum Surrounds might get that joke )

Now roll on the release of The Web of Fear...of the to that's the one I was most exited about seeing back in the achieves all but complete. a Huge fan of the Robot Yeti's so I desperately want to finally see their definitive story!

Robot Yetis! Gotta love 'em. (and yes that is all I'll say for now).
