Blackpool Meetup: Summer 2016
-
As per the above thread/vote, this trip will be scheduled for Summer 2016.
-
For summer I will get to Blackpool. Count me in. Whitby was great fun and I am sure Blackpool would be the same.
-
I, for one, am interested in Blackpool. Socially, this works out best for me but I am open with other options. It is always nice to have a social and meet up, with those I have made quick friends with especially as Whitby went so well.

From a few conversations I've had with people, it's sounding as if the end of July is the optimal time for most people. Any particular objections to that kind of time frame?
-
I should say...
End of July or the first weekend in August.
-
Vote for the end of July here, if possible. I'm giving my sister away on Monday 8th August (at her wedding, not to smugglers), so I'd be probably be expected to get back to the North East by Saturday night. The dubious perils of being a brother and oft-time grown-up.
-
End of July good here too!
Give your sister away huh, I couldn't even pay Gavin to take mine! I didn't lose a sister but gained a fantastic brother-in-law and now have a niece and nephew as spoils of war. Someone should have told him there in no turning back...
-
End of July is good with me.
Thank you and no looking back now..
-
One thing that occurs to me is that the final weekend in July is a bank holiday weekend. It therefore might not be a good idea to go that weekend because transport will be more busier and expensive, hotels will be rarer (and more expensive), and pleasure beach itself will be much busier.
As a possible alternative, would the weekend of 2 July suit people?
-
Are you sure? The next official Bank Hol after the end of May is the end of August.[https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays]
Is this a secret one?
-
Ah, 'tis Scotland only.
-
Weekend of July 2 no good for me sorry.
-
Anyone else care to weigh in here? Maybe mention your availability or something?
I will go with the date that supports the most people.
-
What sort of timescale are we looking at, for that?
