Why didn't sarah'so team not cast ghost in the corridor of blades. They had it and what help could elite of given them.

The team would have had to discuss the GHOST spell, convince themselves that it would help them against the blades, agree that they shouldn't save it for later and then go through the process of spellcasting it - all while guiding Sarah away from the oncoming blades. As we know, they weren't the quickest decision makers, so it's hard to imagine this having a good outcome.

Elita could have given the team a second spell. Ben's team needed two spells to complete Level 3, so perhaps Sarah's team would have as well.

Elita could have given the team a second spell. Ben's team needed two spells to complete Level 3, so perhaps Sarah's team would have as well.

An alternative analysis might be that Elita could have warned them about the upcoming Corridor, in particular tipping them off to cast GHOST before they entered it - therefore negating any extended negotiation time in the Corridor itself.

We know from previous series (3, in particular) that GHOST has a tendency to last for more than one room - although exactly what effect it would have had three years later is debatable! - so this could have enabled her to just stand in the middle and let the blades go through her.

I think this is probably incredibly unlikely, though; other teams got through the CoB unaided and (BURST from S8 notwithstanding) nobody seemed to need it. David's theory above is more likely, IMHO - without a second spell, they may not have been able to get past Lord Fear, who could have finished them off, had they got that far.

Team should've died in Level 1 anyway. They completely messed it up with Gwendoline, who should have either killed them or not given them a password. Bah.

Early in Series 5, the Corridor of Blades was still a relatively new obstacle. It would have undermined it to introduce the idea of a spell being necessary (or even merely helpful) to survive it. As a watcher, I'd have been unimpressed to see a dungeoneer standing in this tense and deadly location, totally impervious to blade after blade, because of a spell they'd got off a scroll.

The idea of a Corridor of Blades survival spell was only introduced in the last quest of Series 8 (BURST). Even then, it was because Lord Fear had made the blades faster than normal.

The GHOST spell in Series 3, which turned dungeoneer Martin into a ghost, was highly unusual in getting the team past more than one obstacle: a wall and a wellway guard. There's no evidence that GHOST in Series 5 would have been similar. It may, for example, have summoned a haunting. Or it could have neutralised an adversary by making them faded. (After all, SPEED in Series 3 affected the dungeoneer while the same-named spell in Series 8 affected the room.)
