Temporal Discussion, A KM podcast

I thought I'd read that somewhere but I couldn't remember where! You'll get a shout-out on Episode 8 (which I'm currently editing) for this.
-
I'm a bit behind but just caught up with the S5 E7 ep (aw, you guys <3). I'm enjoying the classic theme song singalongs, haha.
Regarding "Is this the first indication that there's someone else in the castle", the only others I can suggest are Treguard's humorous remark about "having a few problems lately with the cleaners" in the second ep of Series 1, and Motley mentioned a cook in S3 E13? (Plus Treguard complains that "someone's" let the fire burn low at the start of Series 5, which makes it sound like there are multiple people who should be keeping an eye on it.)
I've never noticed that blooper with Julius thinking they're indoors!
-
I'm glad you're enjoying the singalongs. I'm definitely hoping to do more in the future, but I'm also wary of doing it too much. I snuck a bit into Episode 8 whilst editing, so now I think I really must try to control myself for a while! I'm not sure if Martin enjoys it as much as I do, but I hope he does.
As for Treguard's possibly extensive staff, I think Martin was thinking of other people having been mentioned as being in Knightmare Castle itself, rather than in the Dungeon like the cook and the cleaners. (Of course Treguard probably pays these same people to cook and clean in the castle too, unless he does it all himself!) He was certainly expecting some of his "attendants" to take care of that fire, though, so I guess there must be quite a few of them hanging around Knightmare Castle after all. Maybe some of them are even more qualified than Pickle to wet-nurse King Arthur!

Treguard should count himself lucky. I've been watching the Spanish version lately and the poor lonely king even has to mend his own clothes, having no servants to take care of him since the Lord of Evil took over his castle!
-
I haven't seen much of the third series of ERDT yet, so not sure if the Spanish castles ever made it into that version.
And now that I've watched the Series 3 episodes, yes they did! (In fact they used a slightly wider shot from Coca Castle that didn't appear in Knightmare.)
-
Ah, hooray! I'll be sure to slip that bit of news into an upcoming episode.
-
Though undoubtedly more plausible. (Not that I don't believe it, but I do find it implausible!)

It's gone in at the very start of Episode 10!

In advance of our chat with team 5 adviser Rea Pearson (who insists that the whole box thing was a big misunderstanding) I am pleased to be able to show off some scans of her correspondence with the boys of team 4. Until now we've only ever seen Rea's letter to John, but now we have his reply!

You know, I've now become acutely aware that I've said for this news update (coming to Patreon on Friday) "some of the same shots and some different shots" but all the evidence I can find myself is of ONE different shot and ONE shot the same as on our Knightmare, both from the same Spanish castle. Is this actually the full extent of the Spanish locations on Spanish Knightmare?

I don't know as there are only two episodes of that series available so far (and only one of them happens to feature a Spanish castle), but I imagine they will have used more!
-
I imagine so as well because it would be so silly if they haven't. I really think it's so likely that there was some sort of communication between the two productions about which Spanish castles were going to be filmed by Knightmare's production team, for use on both shows.
Anyway, I'm glad that piece of news is going to be as accurate as it can be until any new information comes to light!

Rea is so harsh on her team - I don't think they're anywhere near one of the worst teams on Knightmare, or even in that series! Certainly they're much more likeable than some others...
Btw, Castell Coch is pronounced "Casteth", which I only found out when I was planning to go there by bus and had to consult YouTube on how to pronounce "Tongwynlais" - many thanks to the Welsh guy who'd uploaded a video about it!!
-
I should have known that Welsh double-l would be troublesome! I'll try to sneak the correct pronunciation in somewhere by the end of Series 5, otherwise it will drive me crazy.
I think Duncan's team is the worst of Series 5. I guess Jenna's would have to be second worst in terms of actually playing the game, but not in terms of watchability. I think my least favourite team ever is Douglas's, though you can't beat Akash's for pure awfulness at the game... but still, what fun!

I happened to pop back on to the website and saw TD was mentioned at the bottom (forum posts), and as a Welshman...
I accept it's absolutely difficult for non Welshies to pronounce the "LL", but I've just come up with a way to explain it - if you do the "th" sound, then move your tongue directly behind your upper front teeth, and repeat, then finally move it slightly further back along the roof of your mouth, and repeat, you should be able to achieve it.
If you see a Ll at the start of a placename, dropping an L is okay (eg, Llandudno to Landudno, not the Clandudno I hear at times!), but it doesn't work at the end.
Also, on a Castell Coch note, it was recently featured on BBC One (sadly it's lit up in blue, not red!)

This is going to be a fun segment of the podcast next time we talk about it

We may only see two Knightmare characters walk on Smirkenorff's back, but at least one other character did it when he was flying Spanish dungeoneers around - you can see Princess Isel guide one onto his back in the most recently uploaded episode of El Rescate del Talismán. (Incidentally I love how the inclusion of Smirky means that ERDT isn't just another programme based on Knightmare but actually exists within the same universe as Knightmare! Perhaps El Señor de la Maldad is one of the Gruagach's demons?)
