Well, ok, I'll grant you that going from Treguard to a fish is a bit of a step down!

        LOL a fish.

Doom metal is Dark heavy gutair/rock music with strong vocals, its like an evlolved Death metal, u dont come across it as much as u did during the early 90s.

Now thats the end of the lession, anymore questions?

Power metal's not a lot like doom metal. But anyway, I don't want to continue this argument - I like it, you don't, end of story, as long as we both like Knightmare (hatred of Virtually Impossible being a bonus).

Talking of Broadsword productions, has anyone ever seen the Satellite Game - is it any good?

Does anyone remember that program. Okay, this is a Knightmare site I know, but I can't find anymore about it?

Vaguely, I think that I must have been the only person who watched I think every episode. I think that I must be the only one who didn't think that the programme was too bad.

I never watched it at all.  I thought Knightmare was more than 3 times as great.

I saw it when it was shown. The problem with Virtually Impossible was that the technology wasn't ready for it and the format didn't quite work. Only now is VR technology good enough to present something that (a) the audience can really get into, and (b) can be played seamlessly (as I recall, several teams appeared to have problems controlling their play).

More than that, though, the sort of games on that show demanded player control through handsets and such; and the game was dictated solely by that. This made it difficult to get into because all the audience would see was the reaction of the game to some unseen action by the player(s).

The new Km will not, I predict, have this problem. This is because the said action by the player(s) will be choosing clue objects, answering riddles/questions and acting on clues - a far cry from pushing buttons, which no-one would have been able to connect with.

Knowing the cause of an effect (especially if the effect is negative - the result of a bad decision) will involve the audience to infinitely greater degree and will build tension (particularly when predicting a negative effect such as a messy death!)

If you've read right through up to this point, you win a prize!  🙂

I watched it for a few episodes, but got bored with it because the puzzles were the same all the time. There wasn't enough variety  IMO.  It was a poor replacement for Knightmare and made me miss it all the more!  😞

I must have been pretty sad. I watched every episode. It used to remind me of "Cyberzone" presented by the very annoying Craig Charles. Does anyone remember that programme?

Right, well, I was a big fan of Virtually Impossible, I even applied to go on that show!

No, it wasn't as good as Knightmare, mainly because of the lack of plots, characters, and so on. Also it was based around points rather than a real adventure - you couldn't even die (well, you could, but then you had to buy another life - I always wanted the teams to refuse!).

Thinking back, it wasn't a very good show, but I enjoyed it - not knowing that Knightmare would be cancelled at that time, I just saw it as a show to tide me over until KM series 9, which didn't happen...

...still, meh. I liked it. Kinda. At least it tried.

Oh, and Cod-P looked like a pooka, which helped.

I remember CyberZone, with the people wearing those VR helmets!

Woah thats going back ages ago!

I watched it all, and liked it (though it wasn't a patch on Knightmare).

What do you guys think about it?

Were any of the Knightmare actors in it?

Was there any chance of it returning the following year in place of Knightmare?

They may have used that stupid pie/cake as energy for all the good it did in Knightmare s8!!!! then the fish might have died from food poisoning thus no recomission!!!!! Oh sorry i forgot, it didnt get re-comissioned as the fish might have dies or was it splattered????? Who knows?? or maybe Lord Fear found it and kidnapped it so Knightmare would come back????

Didn't 'Codsby' return later as a Channel4 late-nite presenter? I think the program was a 'pop-up video' type clone but can't remember the name...

                                          VI? Nice idea... CRAP execution!

Computer hardware at the time simply wasn't up to the rigours of what TC attempted.

If they tried something like that today.....

(What am I saying?!? THEY ARE! The VR demonstrator........)
