Aah, bless ya! That's what the sofa's for, to hide behind!
And there's always the mute button, hehe which makes it quite funny to watch actually, but not as funny as having it dubbed in German, now THAT'S an idea for the DVD!
-
good idea! I had the sound on max while watching the playpen death...
-
do you have surroundsound?
Ooh, Mogdread's voice coming from EVERY angle, that would be scary!
hehe

That scene with Mogdred has to be one of my favourites because it scared me sh*tless when I saw it for the first time. I think I was about 6 year old.
I remembered it vividly all those years afterwards long after my original tapes were lost or recorded over.
The incidental music was marvellously effective, too! If I'd have seen it with Surround Sound...well, it doesn't bear thinking about.

Oakley, no 0ffence, but my puppy is scarier than you...

Automatum/Mechanical Warrior. Fantastic ... monster I suppose. I have recently had contact with Edmund Dehn, and I am sure he remembers the role well. Was worrying when he once almost clunked a poor dungeoneer on the head as she went down a well!
Mogdred....S2....Nasty.
Cedric...He was violent when he got annoyed....That swooping staff, eck.

I got to Mention Bhal-Sheba.
What could be worse then a Vicious 200 Ton Red Dragon?

Well if you are including scariest non KM monsters then I would have to say Pat Sharpe and Timmy Mallet! But back to KM monsters I would say the goblins when I heard the warning that they were present, the assassins, ariande (I hate spiders), Morghanna when she put an end to Martin's quest, WFSs. Basically some monsters that appeared unexpectantly with scary/haunting music!
-
Well it mainly depends when/how they appear/are present. It's basically most monsters appearing all of a sudden with that certain type of scary/haunting music that makes your heart race. I think that the main thing out of the lot which scared me most of all was the goblin warning sound. It stuck in my head ever since I first watch series three back in 1989 and is one of those things I kind of asociated KM with above most other things that I remember from back then. It's funny those little things that you remember mainly and clearly!
-
Yeah, the moment the hobgoblin first appeared is the moment I most remember from originally seeing S3.
Again, gotta be admitted when rewatching it nowadays that the danger of the pursuit would be almost imperceptible if it weren't for the conviction with which Hugo Myatt cries out his warnings.

I always found the season 2 Automaton pretty nasty, especially when I first saw it in 1988. There is something about a Mindless Warrior which has an extra point on the fear factor.
I found the season 3 skulls to be quite haunting too, with the music that accompanied them. You always knew danger was near when that started. :-X

It was the music that they appeared with, along with the actual look of them. They do look heavily dated today of course, but the skulls actually looked pretty nasty.
Compared to the 'chattering teeth' S4 skulls and the S6 'stormgeists' which looked a bit silly (although had a fairly good sound effect), they do a lot more to scare you.
The sword, also from S3, had that nasty sound that accompanied it each time. It was the sound of danger, unlike chattering teeth...
