Knightmare The Movie
-
I think a film would be better than a TV series, as the TV series would compete too much with a Gameshow series! Then again, film are usually the finale for a TV series so I really don't want the end of KM hinted at! LOL! Plot...well my fanfics have plenty of filmy plots in but as for something new...I'd have to think about that!

Fair enoof.
I'd like a film too. What I'd love to see is something a bit different from the usual *D&D/Lord of the Rings *stuff that they have in fantasy movies... a sort of Nineteen Eighty-Four type of dystopia story set in a world of swords and sorcery.
Lord Fear rules England as a dictator, but instead of holding the land in a rod of iron and brutally oppressing the masses (a la your bog-standard D&D villain), he dictates in a subtle, illusionary way that forces the brave resistance (the noble Northguard led by Treguard) to fight their own perceptions as much as their evil masters.
Treguard was always saying that everything here is an illusion, after all, but that angle has never really been exploited to its full potential.

I like to think that my fanfic would work as a TV episode, since I wrote and envisaged it that way...
Something that annoyed me about Knightmare was the incidental music, which I thought was superfluous and overused from Series 6 onwards. But I assume that music would feature prominently in a Knightmare drama or movie, for love scenes, death scenes etc.

With you a hundred per cent on that. It was a sign that the series was less scary than it used to be that they felt the need to resort to that so much more often. There was only a smattering of incidental music before S6, and it still managed to be much scarier than when they started crowbarring it in.

And yeah, I've read your fanfics. They seem almost soap opera-like rather than film-like. (Not a criticism!)
Well, if you think Emii's fanfics are 'soap operatic', what do make of this?

LOTR is ok, but I like Finding Nemo and Bambi more. Plus I like humour more than fighting, special effects and wars.

Ahhh ya big softee . Anyway would a KM movie have dungeoneers in it or be all acting? Would there be dungeoneers but not the same type as in the series'. An idea if not already been thought of could be that there is dungeoneers but there is no team to advise them. They are on an adventure seeking clues and advice from people, objects, scrolls, etc. Thedungeoneer starts off in the antichamber meeting Treguard (and his assistant/s if any), who requests that the dungeoneer finds him a certain object. The helmet of justice is not worn thought as it's not needed. The dungeoneer goes on the quest to find that certain object which could last several days. The dungeoneer doesn't have the knapsack, or they do with supplies and they have to pick up food every so often, which they eat along their way. They could be seen from the antichamber but not advised though. They movie could be based around one dungeoneer and the whole of the quest, which they actually succeed. They dungeoneer gets a reward at the end. If it was a series instead of a film the whole series could be based around one dungeoneer or a dungeoneer per episode.
I hope you understand what I tried to say and I am sorry if I've coincidentally copied someones idea.

(No need to be sarky, Liza. I've already explained that I didn't mean you on the other thread.)
Yeah, what you're describing's clear enough. I don't think it sounds like a film though, unless it's one of those mock-umentaries like ABBA The Movie, and I'm not sure that's really suited for KM. It might make for an interesting new spin on the TV series though.

Sorry I wasn't being Sarky at all, it's just that I meant if any one understood what I said or if I seemed to waffle on a bit that's all. What I meant by coincidental was bits that I hadn't seen/read written anywhere (which were actually already written) that are the same or similar to what I said. Just a thought though as Knightmare is going to be maid into VR then couldn't there also be a cartoon Knightmare film/series? or is that just a bad idea? It could be similar kind of thing but not the same as those old Disney films, e.g. Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Sword in the Stone, etc. which then it could probably be aimed mainly at the younger age groups but for all ages.

Just a thought what about the Knightmare The Movie, where Lord Fear plams to enter the real world, disguising himself as David Cameron and attempts to take over the world ( destroying and getting revenge on former dungeoners and advisors as well). Treguard comes out of retirement to warn the 8 former winning teams now ...adults that they each must attempt the dungeon again and stop Lord Fears devious plan! Sounds a good blockbuster?
Will it be a suscess or will it go the same way as Bottom The Movie?
