RED BUTTON !!!!

Thanks Duncan. Now I'll have to rerecord them in the New Year without the red dot. Bleh.

Just press the backup button DUH
no need to load it all up or log onto this and then press that, its a simple push on the backup button, its not rocket science,
and yes if u keep pressing the buttons over and over the digi box over heats and crashes, not always the case but it does happen and can damage bits inside,

Are you on drugs? Seriously.
Yes your solution gets rid of the red dot, but it comes back after each break, usually a minute into the programme.
My solutions (and Neil's) get rid of the red dot until you change channels so there's no "few seconds of the red dot embarressment on your video recordings of Knightmare".
And Neil, is there any proof that pressing a couple of buttons will cause overheating and damage to a digibox? I really don't think so somehow......

Why don't we just agree to disagree? Everyone has their preferred way to get rid of the evil red dottiness so surely we're all happy? "You say potato and I say potato" and all that, except the point of the song is completely lost with the words in text. Ho hum.

pressing a few buttons doesnt disable the box,
its when u keep pressing the buttons one after the other it overheats and then gets stuck,
Again when u keep pressing the buttons over and over one after the other, ::) ::) ::)
And yes, i drink Tea and coffee

I can not beliveve that this stupid red dot has done this to us all, lol CONTROL THE DOT, IT DOESNT CONTROL YOU. U can just hear in laughing in the distance while its putting its evil plan into work, takeing over the tv, stating with challenge/knightmare and then getting hold of the others one by one untill were all killing each other about the ways the kill IT, Its taunts me
-
Don't worry, the nice men in white coats will take us all to a place where we won't be bothered by the red dot any more.

Don't make yourself look anymore of a twit than you already have done.
Your digibox uses buttons on the front panel. Now holding them all in at the same time is more likely to make it overheat than using the remote, as is putting it in a greenhouse on June 21st.
The only way your remote is going to damage your digibox is if you hit the unit very hard, very persistantly and very recklessly with said remote.
You may like to know that the more times you press Backup the more quickly your battery is used. So in future may I suggest pressing Red and then Backup which will remove the red dot until you change away from Challenge.
Now which part of this concept do you not understand? You press two buttons at the start of viewing Challenge and no need to press anything else until you change channels. For your method, you have to press Backup at least four times a hour when viewing Challenge, at the end of each commercial segment. You can press Backup every 15mins until the cows come home but you'll need to replace your batteries sooner.
Oh and the box crashes because it is the software present. Although judging by the way you seem to operate your hardware, you deserve all the crashes you get

Alright calm it down, I think most of us now fully understand what will be called forever more as the Red Button Dilemma.
So lets calm and watch KM on Challenge and KNOW we can exterminate the little red dot that has upset the masses in such a great way.
Keep Britains moral up! Kick the red button out!
-
I agree with Kieran. It's the season of goodwill, let's not get too excited over the red button, since we have the technology to rid ourselves of the evil fiend.

Thank you for your support James, but couldn't you have said that in one post

When I see three posts in a row from the same person I think "Oohhhh something new...". Then disappointment
Still, glad the dot has been kicked out of Britain for good, and no more handbags at 10 paces etc.
Start the year as we mean to go on
