Certainly something they need to go into more detail with of a new series in made, and it's something that could slowly leak out over the series as part it's story line, maybe treguard was put under a spell and doesn't really know exactly what happen himself until we learn it while taking on the dungeon. Always better to have a purpose to finished the dungeon than just trying to reach the finish line.

First person horror adventure by Frictional Games, the people who worked on the Penumbra series. You explore a castle, constantly trying to keep one step ahead of some malignant horrific something that wants to do you in. You have no weapons, and the only way to stay alive when dealing with the shambling parodies of humanity that skulk through the corridors is to run and hide and hope to the God that doesn't exist that they do not find you because if they do you will die alone and crying and forgotten at the hands of something terrible that hates you and wants you to DIE*[/b]* ... yeah. It's no exagerration to say that this is quite possibly the scariest game I have ever played. And it is MAGNIFICENT. An indie adventure has succeeded where so many A-List Shooters has totally failed - creating a genuine atmosphere of fear and terror. THIS is what a Knightmare for adults should be like. Don't believe me? Check out the prison section. There is a reason why I call this "the dungeon".

Topless Robot recently did an article on "The 7 Nerdiest Game Shows of all time", featuring the likes of The Crystal Maze, Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego, and The Adventure Game. Guess what comes top of the list? Damn straight. I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty sure my childhood self would have stabbed someone to get on this show. Four awe-struck kids meet up with bug-eyed dungeon master Treguard in a castle-esque TV set. One dons a vision-obscuring helmet and enters a green-screen enhanced dungeon, while the other three watch on magical CCTV and give their friend commands to guide them. The rest is too amazing to describe in words, so I'll let the clip do the talking; no wonder it ran from 1987-1994. Just keep in mind: as far as I know, there was no real prize for completing the quest, which few ever accomplished. For the true nerdling, Knightmare must be its own reward. Wow, I'm Speechless, just an amazing episode. The cliffhanger is probably the greatest since New-Who began in 2005 and it was much darker to what we've previously seen this series. When I saw the Stonehenge scenes, I couldn't help thinking about the movie "This is Spinal Tap" and their classic Rock song "Stonehenge". In particular the opening lyrics; In ancient times, Hundreds of years before the dawn of history. There lived a strange race of people...the Druids. No one knows who they were, or...what they were doing... But their legacy remains... Hewn into the living rock of Stonehenge... I was expecting them to at least play a bit of it at some point during DW Confidential but they sadly didn't. It was great to see all the enemies come back (even if it was predictable), the Cyberman head that tried to kill Amy was just like a facehugger scene out of "Alien". Also when the body of the Cyberman retrieved its head and put it back on, it was like a moment from "Worzel Gummidge" or a Kryten spare-head scene from "Red Dwarf". Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Alex Kingston, Arthur Darvill etc. all churned out brilliant performances and I'm loving the new feel of the show. It really has been given a new lease of life, the dark, atmospheric scenes are alway's the best, the scene where River is searching with a flashlight in Amy's home was just like something out of a Horror movie. I was just waiting for something to jump out from behind her and make us all jump. All in all this was a great episode that was epic in every way. I can't wait for part 2.

I've thought for a while that CITV classic Mike & Angelo owes a lot to Doctor Who (alien comes to Earth in box, befriends younger human, alien changes actors, companion changes). In The Lodger, it seems to run both ways. The Mike & Angelo repeats that will open both days of CITV's Old Skool Weekend will be a chance for others to see whether or not they agree. Fans of both series may be interested in this CITV clip, in which Tim Whitnall (the second Angelo) is interviewed in the CITV studio by a presenter called Tom who has since become famous under a different name.

As we step boldly forward into the fourth decade of the Knightmare fan, it's good to know that there is supportive enthusiasm like this out there for KM. My favourite part was the analysis of the Silver Spurs of Squiredom. One disappointment I found was that, for all the ground covered over nearly an hour's discussion, the name of Knightmare's creator wasn't mentioned once. Incidentally, someone should probably let Richard Cobbett know that he contains the full name of a Knightmare contestant within his own...

As far as the comic strip companions go, the most recent one - Majenta Pryce - is one of my favourites. I also like Izzy, Kroton and Destrii (Yep, I've got all the Eighth Doctor graphic novels )

All plays and sketches are now available once again. Over the weekend I'll start work on restoring the commentary tracks.

What a Brilliant Site. Richard Cobbett has done us all proud. A site like this could be just the thing for us finally getting KM on DVD. Keep on Spreading the Word
