The comic book parallels that you mention are noticeable throughout creative literature and media (the famous 'good guys always win' scenario for example). Having said that, Lord Fear nearly always WON. A dungeoneer getting right through the dungeon was a major event... Knightmare was originally designed as a kids show so it's inevitable that some of the characters are going to be fairly one-sided (including those 'of the grey' like Hordriss). And what is wrong with 'Trekkies' might I ask? Yes, there are some VERY scary fans out there... but not everythone is like that! Here's a worrying thought for you...
