I don't know if they'll have kept it if you didn't express an interest... Anyway, one of the other members of my party knows people at Epic, so he's going to have a chat - I'll mention it on the forum if there's any news worth sharing!

Convention DVDs? -
Convention DVDs?We were told to give our email addresses and the footage would be available to buy after the convention...

Convention DVDs?On a similar subject, is there any word on the blue-screen videos from the day..?

USA pilotsAh yes, I forgot to mention the screening! I'm sure there'll be a much fuller discussion of Lords of the Game elsewhere in due course, but it was fascinating to watch... The game aspect of it was somewhat simplified to the extent I don't think the team could have easily lost, but as Tim pointed out afterwards, the pilot was not intended for a D&D literate audience. It was wonderful to see new footage featuring the characters we know and love, but the main revelation for me was the American dungeon master. Completely different from Treguard, but fun and sincere - I could definitely have seen it working with a few gameplay tweaks.
So yes, thanks for digging that one up!

ThanksJust wanted to pop in to say thanks and congratulations to Alan, James and the rest of the crew for putting on a really nice little event today. The talks were fun/illuminating, there were some nice bits of merch around, the dungeon room thing went really well and the guests were utterly generous and obliging - particularly impressed by Mr Myatt, who was going out of his way to chat to fans and proved himself a gentleman. I hope everyone staying for/going to tomorrow's event has as pleasant a time as I did

Hunt / Backstage tickets at reduced ratesSame! I like the idea of puzzles and Lord Fear, but running is anathema to me...

Dungeon bookingsIt's bad that you had a dream about it; you're supposed to have a nightm... You know what, I'll just get my coat.
-
Dungeon bookingsAh, my mistake - one of the Indiegogo emails said you had a list of everyone who had contributed; I didn't realise this wasn't by name.
Obviously there won't be panels going on during the dungeon sessions; will there be other things going on (screenings etc), or do they all require the same space?

Dungeon bookingsAt least one of the emails said they'll have a list with our names on, if I remember correctly...

Knightmare Convention: travel and hotel bookingsHotel booked, train booked... This is actually happening!
-
WE MADE IT :DI was perhaps overly cynical at a few points along the line, but I'm really glad this is happening - it's going to be a brilliant day/weekend
-
Knightmare ConventionMy apologies, Alan - after Mark made it explicit in his video yesterday, and given previous hints you made on the subject, I assumed there was a direct link.

Knightmare Convention: messaging celebritiesYou'll find a lot of celebrities have a blanket policy of not promoting things that people ask them to retweet; for someone with a lot of followers, your request will probably be one of dozens - or even hundreds - they get each week. They can't retweet them all, so it's fairer for them to retweet none. It may be inconvenient, but it's true.
I think it's frustrating that the fate of the show has been tied in with this convention, particularly as that fact hasn't been obvious in any of the publicity outside of this site until the past few days. Perhaps I'm naive, but I think if Tim Child decided to fund a new series of Knightmare via crowdfunding you'd see a lot more people donating.
Sad as it is, conventions will always be viewed by the public as a niche affair for the most obsessive of fans only. There's no easy way around this.
Anyway, I've made my donation (I may be able to donate a little more before the campaign ends, depending on how this weekend goes) and I hope it goes ahead. Either way, full kudos is due to Alan for the work he's clearly put in behind the scenes up to this point.

Knightmare ConventionIf the KM convention flops, it will suggest to media companies that there's simply no interest in Knightmare any longer.
This argument keeps being made, but wouldn't the many hundred thousand Youtube views, Challenge viewing figures and general reaction to last year's events be a much bigger indicator in the opposite direction?
It'll be an absolutely massive shame if this convention doesn't go ahead, but I feel like it's a little disingenuous to tie the show's future (or otherwise) in so completely with how well the convention does...

The new KM episode is up!Thanks for the insights, Tim - I hope I speak for the vast majority though when I say that by and large we're thrilled that you've been able to bring us any new Knightmare of any form - any nitpicking is just that; as geeks, and as people with a large emotional investment in and familiarity with the show, we're always going to be looking at it far more critically than the casual viewers - I've seen nothing but excellent feedback among my 'regular' friends who have seen it!
Whether it turns out to be a last hurrah or a new beginning, thanks for resurrecting the Greater Game one more time

The new KM episode is up!I watched it before I went to work this morning... I thought it was something of a mixed bag. Whilst I understand the decision to have four 'Youtube celebrities' in it, there were times early on when it felt like the advisors - particularly the greasy-haired boys - were playing it a bit too 'Oh, isn't this ironic'... And the less said about the opening couple of minutes, the better.
However, as the episode went on and everyone started to relax into things, it started to feel like a proper episode of Knightmare. The new character additions worked well, and the dungeon was better realised than anything in the show's final couple of years (It's a shame they used the Series 8 theme tune, but that's by the by). Treguard was a bit subdued, though - on more than one occasion, he just let the advisors talk over him - particularly at the end, when his having to wait for half a minute before saying "Ooh, nasty" just felt odd.
Once the game got into its swing, I really did enjoy the episode - I can't quite decide whether it feels like it could be the beginning of a new era or a fun little capstone, but if nothing else it takes the taste of Knightmare VR out of our mouths
I didn't understand that final room, though; what path were they supposed to take? Was 'FEET' the correct one? If so, I think Stuart's jump was a bit unfairly penalised - that's surely something they would've refilmed in the main game? It felt like they needed somewhere convenient to end the episode, and that was as good as any...

Knightmare Live - Previews - July 2013Thanks Alan! And for my part, I am sorry that I made you sidestep in the wrong direction to your demise... A genuine old-school Knightmare blunder which made me feel every bit as shame-faced as the original contestants must have done
-
Knightmare Live - Previews - July 2013As one of the guest comedians on the night in question, just wanted to chip in - we were told beforehand to concentrate on playing the game rather than trying to be funny, and to let the performers on stage do their planned funny stuff. I was more than happy to do this, as I was there as a Knightmare fan first and foremost! Sorry some of you were disappointed with our contribution though...
I think everyone will bring something slightly different to the table during the Edinburgh run, and that part of the fun for audiences might be seeing some quite well-known Edinburgh comedians taking on the challenge. I'm just glad to have had a spot on the preview!

Rumours from Mark KnightAmazing news! I can't wait to see this! I wonder what made Tim do this, considering he said in the documentary that he didn't want to do it again.
Would it be terribly cynical to suggest the answer might be "potential revenue in light of an increased interest in Knightmare thanks to Challenge's repeats"?
Whatever the reasoning, this is potentially fantastic news!

Jackie SawirisI dunno, she's moaning in the clip... You can't really tell
