Thanks for posting this again (I'm not sure how it disappeared from the original post) and for writing the first song parodies of 2014! Robin/Mashibinbin has also reworked a Buddy Holly song, as you may have already seen.

This is about a favourite Knightmare moment of mine. Official karaoke track with original lyrics here; official audio here. Oh what a fright Late October back in '89 What a shiver it sent up my spine 'Cause I remember what a fright Oh what a fright You know she didn't even give her name Was Ross ever going to flee her game? What a lady, what a night Oh I, I got a funny feeling while she hung in the gloom Her face: what I would call an 'organ harvest moon' Oh what a fright Scrutinising and terrorising us Even Mogdred caught an early bus Sheer, horrendous - what a fright And in came Ross on a quest for Mellisandre Morghanna left an axe to a hasten a bloody blunder Oh what a fright Oh I, I got a funny feeling when they walked in the room So new, a rocky tightrope on a pit of doom Oh what a fright Knightmare memories rising from their plight Seemed they'd make it but were too far right What a pity What a fright And so Morghanna went back into the Old Realm 'Til Martin crossed her path and couldn't retain a cold helm... Oh what a fright [image: morghanna.jpg]

Another Love song from Motely about Mellisandra this time a Parody of Jackie Wilson's TO BE LOVED Someone to care, Someone to share, Lonely hours And times when your jokes all fall flat, She’s a maid to love, a maid to Love! Oh, what a feeling, To have a maid to love Someone to kiss, Someone to miss, When you're in the stocks or she’s fallen down a pit. She’s a maid to love, a maid to Love! Oh, what a feeling, To have a maid to love Some wish to be a king or a queen, Some wish for fortune and fame, But to simply be in my Melly’s arms Is worth more than all of these things Someone to kiss, Someone to miss, When you're in the stocks or she’s fallen down a pit. She’s a maid to love, a maid to Love! Oh, what a feeling, To have a maid, A Maid to love

[Much later, after the Dungeon has closed and then reopened, another dungeoneer finds the spyglass and picks it up. An older Lord Fear is pacing around his new old lair. [Cue the second verse that I omitted to parody ten years ago when making my first contribution to the 'I had a silly idea...' thread.] Someone hold my nose, the stench of mackerel grows Lissard's stuffed himself full of fish Why's my viewing pool now a little dish? But if they think I'm spent I'll tell them my intent, yes I can hunt a team 'til it quakes Ooh, I got what it takes (FEAR!) I'm gonna rule forever I'm gonna burn, roast and fry (FRY!) I'm gonna darken the weather People will see me and die (DIE!) Kids, if you're aged 'round eleven Don't even try to come near (NEAR!) I'm gonna rule forever Better remember my leer (REMEMBER! REMEMBER! REMEMBER!) (REMEMBER! REMEMBER! REMEMBER!)

Next week marks the 10th anniversary of the song parody thread 'I had a silly idea...' and my participation in it. In honour of that, I have written this parody of Billy Joel's Piano Man. It's half past four in the afternoon The regular crowd's tuning in They are watching Children's ITV And they wait with a comical grin They say, "Mum, can you get me a video The other one's run out of room I've got Knightmare to tape and the team's in a scrape In some dark and deep catacomb." Give me a quest, I'm the dungeoneer Give me a quest tonight Well I really don't want to be plunging 'ere So make sure I step to the right Now John... I mean Merlin's a friend to all He gives me a spell or three And he's slow to cast VIM, though I rather like him And forgive him for Casper the Key He says, "Beware that Mogdred's not killing you Making skin flake away from your face. Well I'm sure he'd join Hugo in pantomime If we could get out of this place." Now Paul plays the jester and vagabond Who never had time for a bath And he's talking with Mark Knight, who has bark and has bite And probably will cross my path And the greenwarden's practising archery As the witches' queen sits on her throne And the skeletron's clinking in boniness While I barter with stinking old crones Give me a quest, I'm the dungeoneer Me and my friends, the guides Well we're all in the mood for a corridor Yes even with blades down the sides It's a pretty good crew in the studio The floor manager gives me a smile 'Cause he knows that it's me They'll be watching to see To forget about life for a while And the Dungeon's bursting with carnivores And the Helmet is quelling my fear And there's no turning back: I put bread in my sack And say, "Time to sidestep out of here." Give me a quest, I'm the dungeoneer Give me a quest tonight Though I know that I could get a pungent rear If they get me reeling in fright

Another one about an infamous scene in Quest 7 of Series 2. Based on Flanders & Swann's The Hippopotamus Song, aka Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud. Official audio A bold little dungeoneer was standing one day On the side of a green painted vale And hanging above 'im here, the face of a fay With a penchant for making us quail In the antechamber, sat watching the screen The rest of the dungeoneer's team Old Mogdred was charmless and quite far from harmless With dangerously high self-esteem SHRUD, SHRUD, glorious SHRUD Nothing quite like it for showing up duds So burst out your bubble Put down your shovel And then let us chuckle at glorious SHRUD The white-faced malevolence said he was the boss And he shut up Lord Treguard so proud The team will not have a chance if Mogdred gets cross He's hit them with magic called SHROUD Like thunder the letters had echoed, all six Of the word that the team must dispel If they cannot manage to undo the damage Then they will look stupid as hell SHRUD, SHRUD, glorious SHRUD Someone took three brains and swapped them with spuds While they fail the level Watch them and revel And laugh like a devil At glorious SHRUD The friends sitting on the stalls, they heard Treguard moan The significance they didn't know So Treguard upon the fools bestowed a long groan And it sounded much like "Letter O" They finally realised the letter left out And blundered on thanks to that aid But when they met Cedric Again they were dead thick: And tried to cast SHOVEL as SPADE SHRUD, SHRUD, glorious SHRUD Gets my jaw hitting the floor with a thud So turn off the light, yeah Come and sit right there And we will watch Knightmare And glorious SHRUD

This parody of Can You Dig It? by The Mock Turtles is about Quest 7 of Series 2. Official audio You met Mogdred on a vale Invented epic fail Bet your teachers weren't too proud You couldn't dispel SHROUD Can't you spell it? Oh no Can't you spell it? Oh no Can't you spell it? Oh no Can't you tell it's got an O in One little letter omitted. How? We don't know Don't say stalactite though Nor do we know how the hell You earned a SHOVEL spell It's "Not for digging" Oh no Can you listen? Oh no "Not for digging" Oh no Can't you frigging write it down? You really are a poor Dungeon crew And that's why Cedric'll bludgeon you It's not SPADE And so he put your lights out Treguard, DISMISS, oh yeah Treguard, DISMISS, oh yeah Treguard, DISMISS, oh yeah Treguard, DISMISS, cast it now Farewell to Neil, Jason and Craig and Mark Spent nearly all your quest in the dark In a shrud And now it's time to shove off Can you spell it? Can you spell it? Can you spell it? Can you spell it?

This is masterful! I seem to recall thinking just recently that there ought to be a parody of this song, but didn't have any good ideas for it. Yours worked amazingly well - genius lyrics! "They're here for an adventure / But Treguard's got dementia" is my favourite couplet.

Has anyone done this one? Even if they have, seemed like an obvious choice for my first effort... In a room, there's two fireplaces Don't know why I'm telling you this Take the pie, beware of the scorpion Why don't we always just turn right? If we are now questing again Surely this will never end Unless you fall down that hole in the floor What's waiting for you behind the door? In a room, one of those stone faces You need good knowledge to be a knight In a room, lifeforce slowly wasting There’s something wrong here, let’s go right If we are now questing again Surely this will never end Unless we fail on Arthurian lore What's waiting for you behind the door? As I shuffle through a large blue room Too blind to study the emptiness In a room there's only so much space (so much space) A lone soul playing in loneliness Did not pick up the key I've gone and locked myself in for good (locked himself in for good) No one can reach me No one hears my voice anymore Not anymore... If we are now questing again Surely this will never end Unless you walk into a buzzing saw What's waiting for you behind the door? If we are now questing again Surely this will never end

Following my parodies of the DuckTales and Gummi Bears TV themes, this one is a rewrite of the Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers theme. This is dedicated to anyone I've seen dance to the original song. Official recording It seems some teams have left their brains at home And these mates tempt fate, not picky where they roam There's no jump too big, no space too small We wait for them to fall Tr-tr-tr-trip 'n fail Yes, cue dangers Tr-tr-tr-trip 'n fail Enter, stranger Down in the Knightmare Gaol Oh they're not deft Because they don't know right from left Tr-tr-tr-trip 'n fail Let's view dangers Tr-tr-tr-trip 'n fail Enter, stranger Sit back and watch them flail And miss the clues Then blunder down a hole and lose Tr-tr-tr-trip 'n fail Let's cue dangers Tr-tr-tr-trip 'n fail Enter, stranger Tr-tr-tr-trip 'n fail!

Welcome to the forum, Omar. There's a far more up-to-date list here in the IKM Lexicon, currently just a few parodies behind. The links there are out of date since the forum was reorganised, but will be removed or updated soon. If you want to find a particular parody, the forum's search box should help you home in on it, but feel free to ask for directions.

Saw a few topics using songs to parody some parts in knightmare, here's My attempt at it. **Only fears and lissards ** Stick a pooka in your pocket, i'll fetch the frightnights from mt fears depths, so if you're dungeoneering, to me that's interfering, well brother i've a plan, cause where i will come from is a mystery, it's like the changing of the eyeshields and treguards tendancies, but he's the one who sometimes is a berk, why do only lord fears and lissards work, la la la la lah lah lah lah lah la la la la lah lah lah. Lissard: Master, master, a dungeoneer is in level 2 and they have something that might be dangerous for us, here (lord fear looks at it) Fear: You palonker lissard, that's what we're going to use on the dungeoneer init, I despair with you sometimes lissard i really do. Sylvester hands: alright fear...dave Lissard: You know my name's lissar not dave.

Wow! Your song parodies are always very good, but this one strikes me as particularly brilliant. As well as the lyrical genius, it's an inspired choice of song that fits the mood of the occasion perfectly.

Sung by Lord Fear to the tune of Black or White by Michael Jackson. (Song starts at 2:40.) My dragon Bhal-Shebah's behaviour is crass Hit me with a fireball and burned half my room So I took away his firepower Only now he can't decide how to fight I told him, "It's not important: Doesn't matter if you whack or bite." Bhal said, "I think that if we meet dungeoneers We should sink our teeth in like kebab sticks or spears." But Shebah said, "That's low quality: We should swing our tail and clobber them. Right?" I told him, "It's not important: Doesn't matter if you whack or bite." I am tired of this dragon I am finding him duff I just want him to kill things How? Well I don't give a stuff I ain't scared of you, Treguard I ain't scared of your teams I ain't gonna surrender No wait, I might - in your dreams Be careful! 'Cause we're Opposition Helmets on, but keeping our vision It's a turf war on a Dungeon scale I got a dragon with teeth and a tail And he isn't like Smirky: he's murky. Quirky OK, truth be told he's very jerky He's got two personae I need to lobotomise now really, don' I? And both of him agreed with me: Now he's Firestorm and he's seen the light And I've given him back his fire So he doesn't need to whack or bite
