Blue? White? Grey? All are obvious choices, Grey maybe would have been a more of a netural colour, I know of nothing which has a grey dragon, and if there was O would have reconsidered the colour of the dragon, since I am not racist or a bigot or anything.
I am pretty sure that the idealogy is of what I interept it to be.

Look, if you've got a problem with red dragon = evil, I suggest you go start an online petition against Gary Gygax, the creator of Dungeons and Dragons. Because In the D&D system ALL chromatic dragons are evil. Since Knightmare is fantasy-based, I think this just might be the reason why the red dragon is evil!
And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't one of the winning teams Welsh?

But smirkenorf was a green dragon and he was good (actually i think neutral as he liked payment) wheras green dragons are LE in D&D.
yeah, it was clearly biased against wales. i'll tell you what, did you see how the great rift of Angar had hills - it was clearly meant to look like wales and was suggesting wales was an evil place full of stupid trolls.

Ok, this has to be the funniest post of all time... sorry, stupidest. Im from Wales, and i can honestly say neither my friends nor myself thought of wales when the red dragons were around, and also, look at it this way Gerz - Smirky = Good and a blue/grey/green colour. Evil dragon's colour? Hmm. Non of them, and opposite. And wait! Lord Fear's eyes are red when he is getting mad... and wait! Mount fear has a red backdrop! Could we use... Red???

The Red Dragon in KM has no reference to Wales attached to it. Red dragons also appeared in many branches of mythology all around the world, so why does Gerz reflexively assume that this one HAS to be the dragon of the Welsh flag? If it ever fights against a white dragon that represents the Anglo-Saxons then we can be suspicious, but as things stand the whole topic is political correctness gone silly.

Very true. In most fantasy worlds, red dragons are evil. Even in stuff like the Dragonlance chronicles they are, along with blue, green and others.

In many stories, the colour of the dragon determined what power it had rather than its allegiance. For instance, in one legend a red dragon could breathe fire, a white dragon could breathe acid, a black dragon could breathe poison, a blue dragon could breathe ice, and a green dragon could breathe plague.
All of the above were classed as evil, the colour of the dragons was immaterial.

What about St. George slaying the dragon (at least I hope I'm thinking of the right legend!!). Even though this has nothing to do with St. George's day you don't go round slagging off people who celebrate it because in stories he was supposed to have slain a dragon, do you?

In D&D, the colour determines both power and alignment (gold dragons are lawful good and can breathe fire or chlorine, crystal dragons are chaotic neutral and can breathe sharp shards, white dragons are chaotic evil (I think, certainly evil) and can breathe ice etc.). There are twenty-three types in all.

If you read the bible it speaks about Dragons and such, (can't remember what colour) but Dragons with many heads flying around the gates of heaven and breathing fire..
So maybe Wales using the Dragon is a way of saying 'we side with the devil' ? huh?

True, but since Smirky generally needed a fee to take the Dungeoneer somewhere, he certainly can't be LG. And the reds are CE, which is worse. (well, I'd rather deal with LE than CE, LE can at least be reasoned with)
Or Smirky could actually be a copper dragon with a nasty case of verdigris.
PhoenixFlame: Dragonlance is a D&D campaign setting, that's why all the chromatic dragons are evil in it.

I play d&d a lot and yes red dragons and indeed all chromatic dragons are evil. I cannot see how this can be traced to racism against the Welsh, the red dragon was not used to intentionally offend the Welsh, if anything it was put in by mistake. You really think the writers would go out of their way to offend the Welsh with no particular reason? as Will Lowe says Welsh people don't take offence to this, it seems you are trying to cook up trouble so I suggest you drop this and stop making stupid comments.
