Rumours from Mark Knight
-
Quite a few theories as to what Mark Knight will be doing! I can't see a series 9 happening. But who know's?! I think there could be a special episode or maybe a tribute to the program itself. Can't think what else that could happen! We will find out soon I believe!

I hunted Mark down on Facebook and asked him what he meant and he replied:
I'll be in the UK the week of Monday (July 22nd) filming new episodes for a new web-streaming version of Knightmare.
I then asked if it was an official thing led by Tim Child and his answer was:
Yes.
I wonder if this is being treated as Knightmare Series 9 and if it's being produced on the same scale as the original series.
If it's a web based project, they might not have the funds to produce it on the same scale (ie chromakey room and hiring lots of actors) and therefore they might rely on technology to make up for it, resulting in something possibly Knightmare VR-ish. I hope they stick to the original premise of the show, but it's certainly an exciting prospect!

.....I don't think anyone saw this coming!

This calls for celebration!!!

Amazing news! I can't wait to see this! I wonder what made Tim do this, considering he said in the documentary that he didn't want to do it again.
Would it be terribly cynical to suggest the answer might be "potential revenue in light of an increased interest in Knightmare thanks to Challenge's repeats"?
Whatever the reasoning, this is potentially fantastic news!

OMG; this is wonderful news!
Any new KM related stuff is a thrill, but to be getting something with Tim and Mark involved is definitely a bit special

I wonder why BBC News are looking for clips of Knightmare, and if it's related to this project??
Out of interest I noticed Challenge say they have the licence for a few years. So I'm hoping this is an indication that they will show more series of Knightmare. Fingers crossed!

I think they mean the licence for Series 1 & 2... they have said they're not looking into buying any more series at the moment, though I'm sure they'll give it some thought once they've shown the first two a few times.
Anyway, let's not let this thread go off-topic...

I didn't mean to go off topic. I just picked up something that Challenge said on the link you provided and was curious.

This is indeed rather exciting. Has Tim Child been cleverly rebuilding the KM brand via a licences to Challange and KM Live?
Noticed this on Tim's wikipedia entry - does anyone know if this is new info?:
"He is currently Managing Director of DungeonMaster Ltd, and is active in producing for the Internet and the advancement of linguistic artificial intellience in drama applications."
